Musk gave millions to support MAGA even after split with White House, records show

New records reveal that Elon Musk donated millions to Republicans even after his public spat with President Donald Trump.

Federal Election Commission filings show that the billionaire who initially headed the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) gave $5 million to MAGA Inc. on June 27, soon after he blasted Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” which was later passed by Congress and signed into law in July. The feud between Musk and Trump, which played out dramatically on social media, evidently did not deter the billionaire’s financial contributions to Republicans.

The campaign filings show that Musk donated another $5 million each to the Senate Leadership Fund and the Congressional Leadership Fund, Fox Business reported, noting that all three groups  are “‘super’ political action committees that help elect Republicans.”

The donations happened to come days before the Tesla and SpaceX CEO announced he was launching his own political party, the America Party.

“Meanwhile, other new campaign finance reports show Musk pumped $45.3 million into his own super PAC in the first six months of this year,”  according to NBC News: “The tech billionaire gave nearly $17.9 million directly to the group and sent another $27.4 million in in-kind contributions, with Musk covering funds for million-dollar prizes to voters who signed petitions.”

The president’s political force is evident in the massive war chest his super PAC has amassed, with nearly $177 million in its first few months in office and almost $200 million in available cash as of July.

Donors included billionaire entrepreneur Jared Isaacman with $1 million in contributions.

“Other notable donors this year include former top DOGE volunteer Antonio Gracias, who gave $1 million; venture capitalists Ben Horowitz and Marc Andreessen, who each gave $3 million; Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford, who contributed $1.25 million; cryptocurrency entrepreneurs Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who each gave about $500,000; and venture capitalist Timothy Draper, who gave $1 million,” Fox Business noted.
