U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) referred to herself as a “Bronx girl” once again and, once again, was called out for embellishing her upbringing.
In a recent jab at President Donald Trump, the New York Democrat made another reference to her tough Bronx roots. But, according to Republican State Assemblyman Matt Slater, Ocasio-Cortez actually grew up in the more affluent suburbs of Westchester County.
“If you’re a BX girl, then why are you in my Yorktown yearbook? Give it up already,” the lawmaker, who attended the same high school as Ocasio-Cortez, posted on social media along with an image from the Yorktown High School yearbook.

Slater was reportedly a senior at the school when Ocasio-Cortez was a freshman and destroyed her repeated attempts to gain street cred.
“When I saw the tweet making her out to be this tough Bronx girl, I’d just had enough,” he told Fox News Digital. “I literally just reached behind me and grabbed my yearbook, clicked the photos, and said: ‘Listen, enough is enough.’”
“You’re from Yorktown,” he added. “Let’s end this charade and come clean.”

Ocasio-Cortez, who represents part of the Bronx and Queens, had jabbed back at Trump after he called her “stupid” and “one of the ‘dumbest’ people in Congress” in a social media post following her calls to impeach him.
“Also, I’m a Bronx girl. You should know that we can eat Queens boys for breakfast. Respectfully,” AOC, who graduated from Yorktown High School in 2007, wrote in a follow-up post to the president.
But the socialist Democrat’s recurring claims about her Bronx roots have been called out as deceptive, and Slater said it is also disrespectful to the suburb that lies miles to the north of the New York City borough.
“The fact that she continues to go on this charade, I think, disrespects this town,” he said. “I think that’s part of the problem these days. People just want real leaders, and not manufactured, fake folks who feel like they have to hide their past or create this false narrative to score points or votes and get attention.”
“I went to college in New Hampshire. I don’t say I’m from New Hampshire,” he added.
