Why aren’t they at work? Obnoxious protesters shutdown massively busy Chicago traffic

Thousands in Chicago took to the streets in demonstrations protesting President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.

As Los Angeles saw yet another night of violence as riots continued in the California city, a massive mob in Chicago marched through Chicago’s Loop and tangled with law enforcement as they created traffic nightmares for drivers on Tuesday.

This came after a smaller protest of about 200 people demonstrated in the afternoon outside of a building on E. Monroe Street, where they chanted anti-ICE slogans and held signs, blocking traffic and causing one to wonder how so many can leave their assumed jobs to demonstrate.

Chicago police reportedly arrested 17 people in the Tuesday evening chaos.

“Four of the people arrested were charged with felonies ranging from aggravated battery to a police officer and criminal damage to government property, police said. Three of them appeared in Cook County Court Wednesday,” the Chicago Tribune reported.

“Of the others arrested, 10 people were charged with misdemeanors, including battery, reckless conduct, criminal defacement, and resisting arrest, police said. One person was cited for possessing a paint marker with the intention of using it for graffiti, and charges were still pending against two more people, police said,” the outlet added.

“Nathan Sol, 20, Yony Salgado, 33, Johnathan Ellison, 37, were all charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer,” WLS reported. “Asnat Berestizhevsky, 27, was charged with criminal damage to government property, a misdemeanor, and one citation for resisting a police officer.”

The Chicago Police Department noted another incident in which a 66-year-old woman suffered a broken arm after a car sped through a crowd.

The disruption of traffic, including public transportation, and the immense crowds seemingly able to easily join the growing mob, was met with angry reactions on social media.
