Pastor telling Blacks to boycott Dollar General is nothing but a shakedown con man

A woke Georgia pastor who became well-known for his boycott of Target stores has set his sights on a new target.

“Target is canceled since they have betrayed and walked away from our community, and we’ve gone on from there,” the Rev. Jamal Bryant said, according to The Hill. “We’re done with Target, and then our next focus will be around Dollar General.”

Rev. Bryant is now calling for a boycott of Dollar General stores over the chain’s decision to halt its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

“Like other corporations, Dollar General has bowed to pressure from the Trump administration and rolled back their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives,” Bryant said, according to The Hill. “Dollar General also needs to be held accountable for failing to invest in the very black and low-income communities that make up the backbone of their customer base.

Bryant appears to lead an organized effort called TargetFast, which will be directed to flood Dollar General’s phone lines, social media, and email accounts.

Dollar General did not respond to The Hill’s request for comment, but X users didn’t appear worried for the retail chain:

As for Target, it seems to be doing just fine and responded to The Hill with a statement defending its hiring practices.

“Target is absolutely dedicated to fostering inclusivity for everyone – our team members, our guests, and our supply partners. Today, we are proud of the progress we’ve made since 2020 and believe it has allowed us to better serve the needs of our customers,” a spokesperson for Target said.
