'WHY?' Dems irked over name change for baby savings bonds to 'Trump Trust'

Why?

That is what irritated Democrats are asking after several Republicans changed the name to proposed savings accounts for new babies from “MAGA baby bonds” to “Trump Trust.”

The proposal, reportedly first floated by Democrats, was adopted by Republicans, and it seems several want President Trump to be recognized for it. And let’s face it, “Trump Trust” does have a nice ring to it.

Massachusetts Dem. Rep. Jim McGovern asked about the change during a Rules Committee meeting.

“What does it mean to, you know, to strike ‘MAGA’ and insert ‘Trump’? What’s that about in the manager’s amendment?” McGovern asked.

Virginia GOP Rep. Morgan Griffith did his best to reply.

“All of that language was in the original bill when they were creating this new trust that you would, for a child born in I think four or five year period – I don’t remember now if it was a four year period or a five year period – you could set up a trust, there was all kinds of rules about the qualifications of the trustee, had to be a bank, etcetera, etcetera, and the name of the trust originally was going to be the ‘MAGA Trust,’ that you set up for the child and the government was going to put in, I believe if I remember correctly, it was $1,000 for each child where the family set this up, and they were gonna call it ‘MAGA Trust,'” Griffith explained.

When pressed on the name change, he simply said, “The reason was to change that to ‘Trump Trust.’”

“WHY?” Democrats demanded.

The name change angered leftists on X as well, who called MAGA a “cult” and believed President Trump was behind the name change:

I wouldn’t call that wisdom. I’d call that a narcissistic scam. Somehow he’ll probably claim because his name is on it, it belongs to him.

So in the bill, they said “MAGA” stood for “Money Account for Growth and Advancement”. So if they change it to TRUMP, what is it an acronym for?

Aside from whether this is good policy or not, and who was responsible for the name change, it’s almost certain that “Trump Trust” will trigger communists into fits of TDS for decades should the policy come to fruition.
