Kevin McCarthy explains why Dems are most ‘leaderless’ he’s ever seen, says Dems only plan is ordering DoorDash

Daily Caller News Foundation

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy criticized Democratic Party leadership on Fox News Thursday, calling them the most “leaderless” he’s ever seen.

During an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” McCarthy called out Democrat Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for what he said was their lack of clear direction and decisiveness. McCarthy also commented on recent Democratic messaging campaigns and said they’re aimless, suggesting the party lacks genuine priorities.

“I think this is the most leaderless Democratic Party I’ve ever seen. Hakeem and Schumer do not know where to go. They cannot make a decision. They’re putting videos out that say, ‘Pick your fighter,’” McCarthy said. “They just voted to try to shut the government down, for what? To send more hardworking taxpayer money for transgender operas to some country in Africa we don’t even know the name of?”

McCarthy dismissed claims that Democrats have a coherent plan, suggesting sarcastically that their best idea might be “ordering DoorDash.”

“They have no plan. To order DoorDash? That’s their plan? They don’t have a plan. You talk to them every day. And, OK, let’s give President Trump the credit, though. He not only has destroyed them,” McCarthy said. “They can’t figure out how to even argue against him because every day, he does something more.”

McCarthy said that President Donald Trump is increasingly popular among young voters, adding it’s evident that Trump successfully captured the nation’s political imagination in ways Democrats have not.

“If you look at the polling for President Trump, he’s getting the youth vote. That hasn’t happened since Reagan. And you don’t just get that. You have to earn that. And when young people support you, they believe you have the future,” McCarthy said.

Before Trump’s first joint address to Congress, 22 Democratic senators recorded themselves using tiny microphones, delivering a consistent script in close-up shots, hoping to connect with Americans. Unlike her peers, Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett posted a video on social media before the speech, showing her dancing through a congressional building.

These antics have earned criticism not only from Republicans, but even former Democratic strategist Dan Turrentine has voiced his disapproval. Appearing on Fox News Friday, he described the Democratic Party’s tactics as “embarrassing” and criticized their misguided strategy to “out-Trump Trump” by misunderstanding the nature of Trump’s appeal.
