It seems months of humiliating taunting by President Donald Trump may have sent Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over the edge.
The outgoing PM was reduced to tears at a press conference Thursday following days of battling the U.S. president in a trade war and a few short days from having his Liberal Party select a successor.
“On a personal level, I have made sure that every single day in this office, I put Canadians first, that I have people’s backs. That’s why I am here to tell you all that we got you. Even in the very last days of this government, we will not let Canadians down today and long into the future,” Trudeau said in his farewell speech.

The outgoing leader was clearly emotional, adding later that he is looking forward to “a transition to my duly elected successor in the coming days or weeks.”
Trump continued to post on social media about the tariffs and the leader whom he’s referred to as the ‘governor’ of Canada – which could become the ’51st state’ of the U.S.
“Believe it or not, despite the terrible job he’s done for Canada, I think that Justin Trudeau is using the Tariff problem, which he has largely caused, in order to run again for Prime Minister. So much fun to watch!” Trump wrote.
The two leaders spoke by phone this week about Trump’s 25% tariffs, with the call being described as heated. Trudeau characterized it as a “colorful call” but also “very substantive,” according to Reuters.
“I can confirm that we will continue to be in a trade war that was launched by the United States for the foreseeable future,” he said Thursday. “We are… trying to make sure that these tariffs don’t overly harm, certainly in the short term, certain sectors.”
Meanwhile, Trudeau’s teary speech was roundly mocked by social media users.
He put Canadians first except those truckers and every other constituent that spoke out against him.

Love it, but none of this is real. He was a part time drama teacher. A bad one. He has one emotion. Love for himself.

He’s crying because he’s in trouble with his handlers and the gravy train is over.
