NASCAR’s Bubba Wallace of noose ‘hoax’ fame reacts to news Trump may attend Daytona 500

NASCAR driver and Trump hater Bubba Wallace is keeping his feelings close to his vest after his very public spat with President Trump in 2020.

The Black Lives Matter activist accused Trump of promoting hate after the George Floyd Riots and had claimed that a “noose” found in his garage was a racist act, although it was later discovered to be a big nothing burger.

Wallace has since been quiet on the political front and told Fox News Digital that he “couldn’t care less” that Trump may attend the upcoming Daytona 500 on Feb. 16.

“We’re here to race. Not for the show,” Wallace added.

That from a guy who’s been accused, including by Trump, of promoting a race “hoax.”

Wallace had previously told Fox Digital that he had once been outspoken politically because his sport was in “desperate need of change,” but stopped over all the “negativity.”

“Social media nowadays is just a way for people to hide behind a screen and voice their opinions on things they don’t really know about,” Wallace previously told Fox News Digital.

“It’s just too much negativity that it’s going to take years and years and years to get rid of, and we don’t have time for that,” Wallace said of the culture of social media at the time. “Now, with being a dad and trying to be the best that I can be here for my race team and my team here, that’s where I’m investing my energy so that’s all you can really ask for.”

Wallace also told Fox that his focus is on his family.

“You have your kid at home and a full family to provide for now, so it’s crazy to go through all that,” Wallace said.
