A House Republican believes America would be better off without Rep. Ilhan Omar, circulating a petition to send the Minnesota Democrat back to her native Somalia.
Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) sent out an email titled “Petition: Deport Ilhan Omar,” calling out the leftist lawmaker for advising illegal migrants from Somalia on how to evade Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.
“Friend, we should have never let Ilhan Omar into our country. And frankly, America would be a much better place if she were to be sent back to Somalia,” Gill wrote in the email as reported by Axios.
“Recently, it came out that Ilhan Omar is hosting free workshops for Somalians, who are in our country illegally, on how to evade ICE and deportation. It could not be more blatant: Ilhan Omar is more loyal to illegal Somalians than she is to the United States or the office she was elected to,” he added. “It is an absolute disgrace.”

“A sitting member of Congress is facilitating a full-scale invasion of our country…,” the petition continued. “A normal society would refer to that as treason.”
“I have had my fill of foreigners storming our border, complaining about and disparaging our country, and then helping more and more of them invade our lands,” Gill wrote, concluding, “Sign my petition, and let’s send her back to Somalia where she belongs.”
Not surprisingly, Democrats seethed at the freshman congressman’s attack on Omar, who came to the U.S. with her family as a young girl born in Mogadishu and became a U.S. citizen in 2000.
“It is truly disgusting that members of the Republican Party feel emboldened to engage in racist and quite frankly fascist remarks,” Omar said in a statement, according to Axios.
“Representative Gill’s attempt to clout chase by threatening to deport a legal US citizen because you disagree with them is directly out of Donald Trump’s fascist playbook,” she added. “I hope Representative Gill learns a thing or two about the value immigrants bring to this country and stop threatening Americans that disagree with him.”
Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) called on House Speaker Mike Johnson in a post on X to “get control of your caucus before we have to take other actions. This is demeaning & embarrassing.”
“We all need to be better than this sh-t. I expect an answer today,” he added.
“It’s disgusting that Republicans are attempting to raise money by threatening to deport a US citizen just because they disagree with her,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal complained on X.
“Ilhan Omar is a tireless advocate for her district, a fierce protector of our democracy, and I know these fascist threats won’t keep her down,” the Washington Democrat added.
Many social media users were not in agreement with the Democrats, standing with Gill and calling for Omar and other “anti-Americans” to be sent packing.
