Comedian headliner for upcoming White House Correspondents’ Dinner has everyone scratching heads

As fast as the Trump Train is moving, not everyone is eager to get on board.

Comedian and headliner of the 2025 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in no way shape or form wants President Trump to attend but says he’ll miss out if he doesn’t go.

Amber Ruffin who is a writer for the “Late Show with Seth Myers” sat down with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Wednesday to discuss the dinner in April.

Ruffin told Tapper that Americans are all feeling “a little sad” and she plans to highlight some of the reasons why at the dinner.

“When you do that and people feel the same way as you they think that it’s fun and funny and feels good to hear,” Ruffin said.

Newsflash Ruffin … millions of Americans don’t feel you.

When Tapper asked her if she wanted to see Trump, who wisely skipped the dinner in his previous administration, at the event she didn’t hesitate.

“No!” Ruffin said. “No one wants that. Sure, it’s something to do. I can’t imagine he would.”

“He should,” she rambled. “He’s missing out on one of the cool things about being the President of the United States, but I don’t know that anyone’s looking forward to being in the same room as him.”

Perhaps not in that room, but there are plenty of places where Trump can go where he is appreciated and beloved.

Meanwhile, Ruffin got an earful on X:

They clearly don’t want him there and it’s safe to assume the feeling is mutual and that President Trump won’t be losing any sleep over it.
