Comedian and television host Stephen Colbert delivered an overly dramatic “last show of the Biden administration.”
In what many would consider a gift from the host of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” he explained that President Donald Trump’s return to the White House could mean his own exit from the CBS show.
Colbert said it had been a “good run” and thanked Biden for all his “efforts.”

“The next time you all see me, Donald Trump will be president. And you may not see me,” he quipped to audience laughter.
“Next four years, we’re taking this one day at a time,” he added before gushing about Biden’s final address as president.
On Tuesday’s “The Late Show,” Colbert whined that waiting for Trump’s second inauguration is “just so tense.”
“It feels like we’re all James Bond strapped to the table, and the laser is slowly inching toward our crotch, and it’s like, ‘enough about your evil plot to conquer Greenland. Just zap America’s junk off already,’” he said.
Colbert’s drama over Trump’s presidency and his history of anti-Trump monologues didn’t go over so well on social media where X users gave him a scathing reality check.
“High school girls are less dramatic than this grown man,” one X user wrote.
Another quipped that Colbert’s lament was “Another solid Trump ad!”
