‘I have a good feeling’: DeSantis ignites MAGA world with hints on Rubio replacement

Ron DeSantis dropped telling hints about changes coming to Congress and the state of Florida.

The Sunshine State governor talked with “Fox & Friends” on Friday and first addressed questions about the devastating fires in California.

Show host Lawerence Jones addressed the governor by playing an “interesting exchange” DeSantis recently had with a reporter.

“Is it appropriate for a president-elect or a president to be criticizing…” a reporter began to ask about Donald Trump’s criticism of California’s failed Democrat “leadership.”

“Is it appropriate for people in your industry to try create division and then try to create narratives anytime these things happen?” DeSantis shot back. “You’re not interested in doing that because Newsome is a D [Democrat]. If Newsom was a Republican … you would have him nailed to the wall.”

DeSantis explained to Jones that his point was that media lapdogs had been trying to pin the devastating California wildfires on Donald Trump.

The governor recalled the bad press the media tried to portray over his handling of Hurricane Ian, but when reality had outpowered the media’s negative narrative, “you couldn’t find CNN in the state of Florida if you had a search warrant,” DeSantis said.

Ha!

Just before the end of the interview Jones asked the governor if he’d decided on someone to fill Maro Rubio’s Senate seat.

Rubio was tapped by Trump to be the next Secretary of State, and DeSantis reassured conservatives that he plans to fill the seat with an America First candidate.

“I haven’t but it’ll come soon.” DeSantis said before dropping hints about the qualities he wants in the seat filler.

“It’s going to be somebody that will help President Trump deliver on the mandate he earned from the American people,” DeSantis said. “It’s going to be somebody that’s strong on immigration,” he continued. “And it’s going to be somebody that represents the conservative principles that have made this country great.”
