Nick Jonas faces fan backlash for his response to Elon Musk

Singer Nick Jonas is paying no attention to the social media backlash over his response to a post by billionaire Elon Musk.

The songwriter’s reaction to a Musk post on X sent his fans into a meltdown as they lambasted him for what they believed was support for the Tesla and SpaceX CEO who has become persona non grata on the left since becoming associated with President-elect Donald Trump.

But Jonas has not engaged in the social media chatter or bent the knee to the mob, leaving his post up as a source noted that Jonas has “already moved on.”

The innocuous post by the 32-year-old actor and songwriter featured a picture of Musk and the caption, “Take us to the Year 3000.” The wordplay referenced the Jonas Brothers’ song “Year 3000” and was in response to Musk’s own post that used a GIF of Nick and his brother Kevin Jonas turning around a table.

The incoming co-chair of the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) used the clip along with the caption, “My how the tables have turned,” in response to an X user claiming Tesla’s profits have gone up since Trump’s election victory.

Though Jonas said nothing more than the song reference, neither praising nor criticizing Musk, the cancel culture mob grabbed their pitchforks and torches to attack him over a perceived support of the billionaire.

“Nick is not going to waver from his post on Elon Musk nor will he double down, and doesn’t plan on deleting it,” a source close to Jonas reportedly told the Daily Mail.

“He thinks many are taking things a little overboard in how they are reacting to it all… For Nick, there are a lot more important things to worry about than dealing with online trolls over what he thought was a fun and non-drama-filled post,” the source added.

“Support or not, Nick was trying to be clever over making some type of statement or announcement of support, but on the internet, you can’t do anything without getting attacked. This will pass and Nick has already moved on from whatever controversy this somehow has made.”

Many X users noted the ridiculous meltdown on the platform.

Many on the X platform came to Jonas’s defense and some who saw the tweet as a show of support applauded the singer.
