Trump campaign adviser collapses while speaking at Republican gala in NY

A 2024 campaign advisor for President-elect Donald Trump caused concern and a rush for aid when he unexpectedly collapsed onstage.

In a shocking moment in Manhattan Sunday, Alex Bruesewitz had to be escorted off the stage after he appeared to faint, later eliciting a call from a concerned Trump.

Bruesewitz appeared to have no issues as he addressed the 112th Annual New York Young Republican Club Gala. But some moments into his remarks, he appeared to slur his words and look a bit confused.

“I’m forgetting my words,” Bruesewitz, who is the CEO of consultancy firm X Strategies, said with a slight smile before he fell to the ground, taking the podium with him.

The incident caused a commotion in the audience and onstage as help rushed in.

The 27-year-old was introducing incoming White House senior aide Dan Scavino when he fainted. Master of Ceremonies Raheem Kassam let the audience know that Bruesewitz was recovering backstage and had even joked about the incident.

“I talked to our friend Alex Bruesewitz and you know what he said to me? He goes ‘Did I at least look cool?’ I said Alex, you used gravity like I’ve seen nobody use gravity before in their lives,” Kassam said. “But he’s recuperating back there, so give him a big cheer so he’ll hear you.”

Trump reportedly called in, giving the “very special guy” a shout-out.

“I know that Alex is going to be fine because he’s a tough son of a gun,” Trump said. “There’s no doubt about that. So I want to say hello to Alex because he’s a very special guy.”

Other guests at the gala event included Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL), Rep. Marc Molinaro (R-NY), Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), as well as Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller, and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

There were no further updates on Bruesewitz’s condition but he was reportedly admitted to the hospital and underwent several tests.

“One nose dive off a stage won’t slow him down,” former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz wrote on X, calling him a “great American.”

Bannon gave an update on Monday.
