‘Hero’ Daniel Penny receives special welcome as he joins Trump, Vance at Army-Navy game

Waves of patriotism and positivity filled Northwest Stadium Saturday as the president-elect’s guests included a special welcome for U.S. Marine Corps veteran Daniel Penny.

More than a year-and-a-half after his arrest in New York City, but only days after his acquittal regarding the death of Jordan Neely, Penny traveled to Landover, Maryland to attend the annual Army-Navy football game. As the special guest of fellow Marine veteran Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, mingling with VIPs included meeting President-elect Donald Trump who shared some special moments of his own.

Images shared on X featured featured Trump, Vance and Penny laughing and smiling as the GOP leader and veteran had both experienced lawfare in New York City.

As Vance had put it when he’d announced the attendance of Penny, “Daniel’s a good guy, and New York’s mob district attorney tried to ruin his life for having a backbone. I’m grateful he accepted my invitation and hope he’s able to have fun and appreciate how much his fellow citizens admire his courage.”

Among those celebrating the end of the criminal trial, with a civil suit recently filed, designated co-chair of the planned Department of Government Efficiency Vivek Ramaswamy had shared an image with Penny and said, “Our family contributed to this man’s legal defense fund last year because he was wronged. We don’t regret it. Hope Daniel Penny has a bright future & good life ahead.”

Of course, the young man wasn’t the only one being admired Saturday as the president-elect shared his respect for the brave men and women of the armed forces as he himself was greeted with a familiar chant.

In one video shared by Clay Travis, the Outkick founder captioned, “Donald Trump salutes during the national anthem. Joe Biden didn’t go for the past four years. Great to have the president back at Army-Navy.”

Another clip from the game shared by Florida’s Voice Assistant News Director Eric Daugherty included chants of “USA” as Trump waved to the crowd.

Meanwhile, as the once and future commander-in-chief was seen holding court with Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., the executive suite was a who’s who of high-ranking Republicans and administration nominees.

Among those spotted rubbing elbows with the president-elect were House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA) and Senate Leader-elect John Thune (SD) as other notable guests included nominees: former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, director of national intelligence; Pete Hegseth, secretary of defense; Kash Patel, FBI director and Florida Rep. Mike Waltz, national security advisor.

Further, DOGE co-chair and ardent supporter Elon Musk was spotted in the booth and elsewhere enjoying the game with his youngest son.
