Trump makes triumphant return to DC, meets with a ‘happy’ Joe Biden in Oval Office: ‘Politics is tough’

President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House had many thinking incumbent President Joe Biden had never “been happier in his entire life.”

Setting aside the contentions of the 2020 presidential election and the divisiveness perpetuated by the left in the years that followed, the leaders of their respective parties returned to tradition and met at the White House on Wednesday.

The meeting, both in congratulations to Trump and in an effort to facilitate a “smooth transition” of power, found the two smiling and laughing beside a fire in the Oval Office.

Expressing an aim to “do everything we can to make sure you’re accommodated — what you need,” Biden said to his one-time rival, “Welcome. Welcome back.”

“Thank you,” replied the once and future commander-in-chief, “Politics is tough and it’s in many cases, not a very nice world, but it is a nice world today and I appreciate very much a transition that is so smooth it’ll be as smooth as it can get, and I very much appreciate that, Joe.”

Earlier that morning, the media had captured Trump’s return to Washington, D.C., weeks ahead of his inauguration after sweeping the battleground states against Vice President Kamala Harris while Republicans held control of the House of Representatives and reclaimed control of the Senate.

Prior to returning to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for the first time since Jan. 20, 2021, the president-elect had addressed congressional Republicans at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill where he said, “It’s nice to win. It’s always nice to win. A lot of good friends in this room.”

“We had like historic kind of numbers, especially for the president, but we won’t get into that. But the House did very well, and I think we’re responsible for 31 — helping you with 31 [seats], meaning we could have lost by quite a bit,” he continued as he was accompanied by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, set to work with businessman Vivek Ramaswamy at cutting government waste.

Joking in a manner sure to trigger meltdowns across corporate media that had yet to let up their rhetoric about his vying to be a “dictator on day one,” Trump said to the press, “I suspect I won’t be running again unless you say, ‘He’s good, we got to figure out something else.'”

After referring to the GOP leader’s supporters as “garbage” ahead of Election Day, a joyous demeanor addressing the American people after his former running mate lost, as well as his wife Jill Biden’s choice of attire when she’d gone to vote — decked out in a red suit — left many believing that the incumbent and his spouse had crossed party lines when they’d cast their ballots.

Those sentiments continued throughout reactions to the pleased president as some joked, “He’s unburdened by what has been.”
