Kai Trump’s ever-humanizing perspective on her grandfather added a behind-the-scenes look at a “nervous,” “stressed” and “super excited” Election Night and one supporter achieving “uncle status.”

As she had during her speech at the Republican National Convention, President-elect Donald Trump’s eldest granddaughter cut through the media narrative Monday when she offered a glimpse at how her family experienced a second White House victory.
In a vlog posted to her YouTube channel, the 17-year-old daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa took viewers through the night from her preparations to a recap of celebrations, earning roughly 1.5 million views in less than 20 hours.
“I’m stressed,” she said at one point and admitted to being “nervous” while arriving at Mar-a-Lago with ABBA’s “Money, Money, Money” playing in the car. “I haven’t seen my grandpa in a while because he’s been campaigning.”
“Obviously with the last few days it’s been really hard to see him because he’s been traveling,” she remarked. “I’m super excited to see him again. He’s been calling me almost every other day. I’m ready to party it up tonight and hopefully we [win], fingers crossed.”
“I think he’s going to do amazing for this country. He works so hard and I don’t know anyone who is more hardworking and driven than him,” the high school junior committed to the University of Miami expressed.
At one point, the teen shared scenes from the viewing party where the family had gathered with campaign officials and advisors to watch the results come in, including Trump’s youngest son, Barron, who was credited for his influence in navigating the podcast space for the president.
Elsewhere in the evening, a photo that had begun with her siblings Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe, had grown to include much of the Trump family and even Musk’s.
The world’s richest man has reportedly been a constant fixture at Mar-a-Lago since Election Night as his commitment to restore government efficiency had him participating in the transition team efforts to hit the ground running on Jan. 20, 2025.

Elon Musk’s recently forged close relationship with the Trumps included a photo shared by Kai as she beamed over “Sundays with Grandpa” and asserted, “Elon achieving uncle status,” with a laughing emoji.
Equally amused was the SpaceX CEO who commented on the expression of his son, X Æ A-Xii, in the photo by stating, “Lil X is being such a troll…”

Following the videos from the night of the election, Kai included reflections filmed later as she told viewers, “We didn’t really get to film the end because he won and we were just celebrating with family.”
“It was just a really special moment for all of us. I’m extremely proud of him, I think he deserves it more than anyone in the whole world,” she went on. “He really has worked his butt off every single day for the past eight years for this country.”
When the win was in sight, the proud granddaughter recounted, “After he started winning Pennsylvania I just started tearing up knowing he made it and he finally fought back and won.”
Ultimately, Kai expressed how the president’s work ethic inspired her as she said, “He really just doesn’t take any breaks, doesn’t do anything besides work. It’s truly motivating to see that every single day and have that as a role model. When I grow up I want to just be like him and fight like him.”
