‘I was filthy’: Whoopi clapback manages to confirm Trump’s ‘filthy, dirty, disgusting’ assertion

The former president’s “filthy, dirty, disgusting” take on one particular co-host from “The View” found her firing back, but hardly proving him wrong.

On Tuesday, the ABC daytime talk show was one of many corporate media crutches propping up Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign. After former President Donald Trump called the cast for being “dumber than Kamala,” Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the clapback by affirming the shots delivered at her while disabusing the left of claims the GOP leader was somehow racist.

“We walked out to ‘Dirrty’ by Christina Aguilera because it’s one of the words that you-know-who used when he was talking about me in particular. But, he was talking about us at his rallies,” said Goldberg as clips of the president’s remarks were aired.

“As it turns out, I was filthy. I was — and stand on that fact. I have always been filthy,” noted the co-host after Trump said, “Her mouth was so foul… she was so filthy, dirty, disgusting — half the place left — I said, I’d never hire her again.”

Trump recalled how he had once hired Goldberg to perform as a comedian and that, as was the case with many people in Hollywood before he ran for president, they had gotten along, “Politics can do strange things to demented people.”

In addition to asserting the GOP leader was right in his characterization of her, the co-host attempted to score points against Trump for keeping her act running, “I headlined, babe, at your casino, which I might have continued to play had you not run it into the ground.”

“How dumb are you? … You hired me four times and you didn’t know what you were getting? How dumb are you?” she tried before referencing the “Access Hollywood” tape that had rocked the 2016 election. “You know how dirty I wasn’t? I never grabbed anybody by their genitalia.”

Reactions on X had users pointing out some of the issues with Goldberg’s effort at slamming Trump.

Meanwhile, co-host Sunny Hostin tried to get in her own digs against the Republican nominee who had focused on Harris answering a question by drawing no distinction between herself and President Joe Biden, “I think the other one, asking the question, is dumber than Kamala. She’s a dummy. I watched her over the years. That is one dumb — that is one dumb woman.”

“I have a personal legal note,” said Hostin. “Donald Trump, I want to thank you for personally telling so many lies and committing so many alleged crimes and providing us with material on a daily basis. You help us do our jobs and I’m so appreciative.”

“Because of people like you, a former prosecutor and legal expert can become a fixture on a show like this. And again, I’m so grateful,” she continued. “I admit, I may not have spent as much time in a courtroom as you have…and like Madam Vice President Kamala Harris, I’ve had a history of prosecuting sex offenders. So thank you for keeping people like us in business.”

“And, as for dumb questions, you’re always welcome to come here and answer some — if sitting so close to a prosecutor won’t make you nervous,” the co-host tried.

She too was roasted online for attempting to score points on Trump.
