Ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’ Tuesday interview with Howard Stern, a “disgusting” blast from his past resurfaced.
While the White House hopeful postured herself as an ally to women and minorities, and her own husband became the focus of scandal over allegations from his past, the decision to appear on Stern’s SiriusXM show appeared shameless, to say the least.
Adding to the awful optics, a skit starring the infamous shock jock and actor Sherman Hemsley from more than 30 years ago was brought back into the conversation over the host’s use of blackface.
“WTF!?!?” said the former president’s son Donald Trump Jr. as he reacted to the clip shared by Vince Langman with the caption, “In honor of Kamala Harris doing an interview with Howard Stern, here are 90 seconds of Stern in blackface repeatedly using the N-word. I’m sure CNN will be outraged by Kamala doing an interview with a flaming racist.”

Dating back to 1993, the skit with Hemsley saw the duo mocking Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg following the former’s decision to appear in blackface during the Friars Club roast for the actress that year. That year, Danson had divorced from his second wife as he had been having an affair with Goldberg.
Stern could be heard explaining for the New Year’s Eve special that Hemsley’s Goldberg “wrote everything I’m gonna say here tonight, so it’s all right. Ain’t that right, you smelly n*****?”
“I didn’t write that,” said Hemsley before the shock jock replied, “Well, you is a smelly n*****.”
While longtime co-host Robin Quivers had the same insult turned on her during the scene, Stern further demonstrated racist notions of humor when he said, “Hey, Robin. What does you call a black rocket scientist? A n*****.”
When the video previously made the rounds in June 2020 after George Floyd had died while in police custody spurring riots from Black Lives Matter, Stern said on his show, “The sh*t I did was f*cking crazy, I’ll be the first to admit. I won’t go back and watch those old shows; it’s like, who is that guy?”
“But that was my shtick, that’s what I did and I own it. I don’t think I got embraced by Nazi groups and hate groups. They seemed to think I was against them too. Everybody had a bone to pick with me,” he added. “Yeah, I was lampooning him and saying, ‘I’m gonna shine a light on this.’ But would I go about it the same way now? Probably not. Not probably, I wouldn’t.”
Apologies from the past didn’t stop the host or his promotion-seeking guest from getting ripped on social media ahead of their sit-down together on Tuesday.

When people said she should be doing interviews I don’t think Howard Stern was who they envisioned instead of asking her about inflation, or the border he will ask if she’s wearing panties, and if so could she let him have them or some other raunchy inappropriate thing. I wonder…

Is she actually doing an interview with…Howard Stern?!? What is happening to America?

Meanwhile, Harris’ gravitation toward raunch found her attempting to explain why she agreed to appear on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast to host Alexandra Cooper.
“Well, I think you and your listeners have really got this thing right. Which is one of the best ways to communicate with people is to be real, you know, and to talk about the things that people really care about,” said the vice president while fans of the show viewed the content as little more than propaganda.
