Former President Donald Trump sees the 2024 bid for the White House as his last, revealing he would not mount another campaign for office if he does not secure an election victory in November.
The Republican nominee was asked about his future plans, should he lose to Vice President Kamala Harris in November’s pivotal election, by journalist Sharyl Attkisson who posed the question about the 2028 presidential election in an interview.
“If you are not successful this time, do you see yourself running again in four years?” Attkisson asked on the “Full Measure” program.

“No, I don’t,” Trump replied.
“I think that will be — that will be it. I don’t see that at all,” he added. “Hopefully we are going to be successful.”
Currently 78 years old, Trump would be 82 by the time of Election Day 2028. With President Joe Biden ending his re-election efforts and bowing to Vice President Kamala Harris to take the top slot on the Democrat ticket, Trump is the oldest candidate running for president.
After two failed assassination attempts and the relentless vilification of the former president by his critics, the media, and nearly all Democrats, it is no surprise he would want to ride off into the sunset after a rigorous run. But his loyal supporters may have other thoughts.
When asked by Atkisson about the attempts on his life, Trump replied, “You know, the only ones that really are troubled are consequential presidents.”
“So, in that way, it’s a very nice honor,” he added.
“I can’t be scared because if you’re scared, you can’t do your job,” he said. “Nasty things could have happened, would’ve happened. But we had a very good Secret Service agent that spotted a rifle coming out of a very, very dense group of trees and foliage and plants, saw the rifle and he started shooting.”
