Dem proudly introduces ‘No Tax on Tips’ legislation, after idea is stolen from Trump

The left has decided that they are going to run with former President Donald Trump’s “No Tax on Tips” idea, and one representative has even introduced legislation.

Rep. Steven Horsford (D-NV) proudly introduced his Tipped Income Protection and Support (TIPS) Act, which aims to “prevent employers or high-end earners from exploiting the elimination of federal taxation of tips,” the lawmaker explained.

While this was a brainchild of the Democrats’ enemy, it was only a matter of time before they found a way to make it their own. In a speech on the Capitol steps, he quickly whipped out the race card to play to people’s sympathies.

“Today, I am proud to be introducing a bill because a disproportionate number of the 6 million tipped workers who are women and people of color make as little as $2.13 cents an hour, which really is poverty wages, at a time when families and workers are trying to afford the cost of living,” he said.

The bill, if passed, would exempt up to $112,500 of tips from any kind of income tax for service workers.

“Latinas and black women in particular face significant pay disparities earning less than their white male counterparts. If we’re serious about income equality and closing the gender pay gap, then this is the bill that people need to get behind,” he continued, beating a familiar drum.

“Sadly, for too many tips are not a bonus; they are the difference between making rent or facing eviction, between feeding their children and or going hungry themselves. The TIPS Act will change this,” he added.
