Trump team offers Tulsi Gabbard an official role alongside RFK Jr: ‘Can’t wait to join forces!’

Former Democrats Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard may soon be serving on Republican nominee Donald Trump’s transition team.

The Trump campaign confirmed Tuesday that former Independent presidential candidate RFK Jr. and Gabbard, a former U.S. congresswoman from Hawaii, will be named honorary co-chairs on the presidential transition team.

“As President Trump’s broad coalition of supporters and endorsers expands across partisan lines, we are proud that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard have been added to the Trump/Vance Transition team,” Trump campaign Senior Advisor Brian Hughes said, according to Fox News.

“We look forward to having their powerful voices on the team as we work to restore America’s greatness,” he added.

Trump introduced Gabbard at an event Monday where she announced her support.

“She’s got great common sense, great spirit, and she loves our country,” he said.

“It’s unclear what exactly she and Mr. Kennedy will do in their transition roles, but they will join Mr. Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as his running mate, Senator JD Vance, as honorary chairs of the transition,” the New York Times reported.

Kennedy, who endorsed Trump last week after suspending his own presidential bid, told Tucker Carlson about his new role in an interview.

“I’ve been asked to go on the transition team, you know, and to help pick the people who will be running the government,” he said.

Gabbard, who has been helping Trump with informal debate preparations, formally endorsed him on Monday.

“I am proud to stand here before you today, whether you’re a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent,” the National Guard veteran said. “If you love our country, as I do, if you cherish peace and freedom as we do, I invite you to join me in doing all that we can to save our country and elect President Donald J. Trump and send him back to the White House to do the tough work of saving our country and serving the people.”

Gabbard praised Trump for “having the courage to meet with adversaries, dictators, allies and partners alike in the pursuit of peace, seeing war as a last resort.”

She will reportedly be moderating a town hall with the former president that was planned by the campaign for Thursday in La Crosse, Wisconsin, according to the Associated Press.
