Tough-talking Vindman rips ‘free speech absolutists weirdos,’ says Elon Musk should be ‘nervous’

Retired Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman’s tough talk against Elon Musk and “‘free speech absolutists,’ weirdos” got him slammed as “such a good little commie.”

In the latest display of X’s unrivaled status as the go-to town square, the Democratic Party shill, known best for testifying against then-President Donald Trump during his impeachment trial, utilized the platform to rail against it and its owner.

Following the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, Vindman suggested the world’s richest man may want to be looking over his shoulder as he wrote, “Musk should be nervous.”

“While Durov holds French citizenship, is arrested for violating French law, this has broader implications for other social media, including Twitter. There’s a growing intolerance for platforming disinfo & malign influence & a growing appetite for accountability,” he posted while sharing a thread that contended Durov had been working with the Kremlin. “Musk should be nervous.”

As had been reported, the 39-year-old billionaire was arrested after landing in France as authorities asserted that the Telegram messaging app’s encryption capabilities made it complicit in criminal activities including conspiracy, drug trafficking, and pedophilia.

Musk himself weighed in when a contrast had been proposed between himself, Durov, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg by calling out the latter, “Already caved into censorship pressure. Instagram has a massive child exploitation problem, but no arrest for Zuck, as he censors free speech and gives governments backdoor access to user data.”

He also had posted not long after Vindman, “It is vital to the support of free speech that you forward X posts to people you know, especially in censorship-heavy countries.”

Still, oblivious to or in spite of the severe ratio for his point of view, the retired lieutenant colonel doubled down Sunday, deriding proponents of the First Amendment while using it to level serious accusations against Trump.

“These MAGA tech bros ‘free speech absolutists,’ weirdos saying that they’re a platform not at all responsible for moderating content are really triggered. France took action against the founder of telegram for running a platform that facilitated all manner of criminal activity, including child porn,” he said before signaling his favor for censorship and suppression crackdowns throughout Europe. “The EU has been increasingly stringent on enforcing content regulations in social media platforms. Enforcement is only likely to increase.”

Roping in Trump, Vindman added in opposition to a detractor who’d posted, “Sic Semper Tyrannis, you authoritarian scum,” “Maybe you should be more concerned about the fact that your nominee for POTUS is a sexual predator with well documented ties to Jeffrey Epstein.”

As he had with Durov, Vindman accused Musk of working with Russian President Vladimir Putin despite his extensive efforts to support the people of Ukraine through the deployment of Starlink, and said, “Russian oligarchs, from [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s inner circle funding Musk’s takeover of Twitter, needs maximum scrutiny. Twitter has since spiraled into a cesspool of disinformation. Seems like a classic active measure, co-opting media to propagate disinfo. Why isn’t [Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States] involved.”

For his trouble, Vindman got to experience some free speech absolutism firsthand as social media users sounded off on what they thought about anyone attempting to control what they could or couldn’t say.
