Trump campaign office broken into, sheriff says it’s a ‘rare’ event

Authorities released images of the man suspected of breaking into a Trump campaign office but claim the burglary is a “rare” event.

An adult male wearing dark clothing and a dark cap carrying a backpack is seen in surveillance video provided by the officials after the Trump for President 2024 campaign office in Ashburn, VA was broken into on August 11.

Though authorities were alerted to the trespassing at about 9 p.m., the suspect had already fled by the time law enforcement arrived on the scene.

“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said in a news release. “We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind.”

The sheriff’s office post has been viewed over 150,000 times but comments have been restricted on X.

The Virginia 10th District Republican Committee is also headquartered in the office leased by the Trump campaign which is about 30 miles west of downtown Washington.

The incident unfolded just days after the Trump campaign revealed it was hacked and documents were released, prompting the FBI to launch an investigation. Politico reported that it had received emails from an “anonymous account with documents from inside Trump’s operation.”

The Trump campaign blamed “foreign sources hostile to the United States,” and referred to a report last week claiming Iranian hackers “sent a spear phishing email in June to a high-ranking official on a presidential campaign.”

Back in May, hazardous-materials teams came to the Virginia office location after two vials of blood addressed to Trump were discovered.

Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, spoke of the “massive effort” by the deep state to keep the former president out of the White House.

“I think it’s pretty obvious at this point, there are a lot of people out there and there’s a massive effort, of course, to keep Donald Trump out of the White House. These people are terrified. This is the deep state. This is the swamp in Washington, D.C..,” Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee told Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Meanwhile, social media users reacted to news of the “rare” event of the break-in at the Trump campaign office.
