Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has just added a former Obama consultant to her campaign team.
David Plouffe, who managed Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, is joining the Harris campaign. Plouffe served as Obama’s senior aide during his 2012 re-election and will reportedly serve as a senior adviser to the vice president in her election bid, according to Reuters, citing “a source with direct knowledge.”

“Well, our Jeff Zeleny is now confirming this report that David Plouffe, the campaign manager for Barack Obama’s historic 2008 presidential campaign, is now joining Vice President Harris’s campaign as a senior adviser,” CNN’s David Chalian told Dana Bash on Friday.
“That’s according to a Democrat close to the campaign. I don’t know that it’s, I don’t think we have a sense of it’s a change or just an addition to, having, you know, one of the most celebrated and smart Democratic political strategists join the team to offer his counsel and advice is obviously going to be a welcome news to many Democrats who are following this,” he added.
“We’ll see if that means he displaces someone,” Chalian continued. “And if this is the beginning of a shift of command at the Harris campaign. When she took over the operation, she was very clear that Jen O’Malley Dillon and Julie Chávez Rodríguez were going to stay in their roles. So this may be bolstering that.”
“Yeah, sounds like bolstering. And, like, if they could get him, why wouldn’t they?” Bash said.

Plouffe had not seemed to jump on the idea of joining the Harris team when MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough had made the suggestion in an interview last month.
Social media users reacted to the news that one of Obama’s top advisers was going to be on the Harris team.
Tell me Barack Obama is not the president and going to be the president without telling me that
