The Cincinnati Bengals threw cold water on the rumors that quarterback Joe Burrow was one of the “white dudes” supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in a fundraising call.
Social media users began circulating messages that Burrow and other NFL players had appeared in the “White Dudes for Harris” Zoom call but the Bengals released a statement refuting the claims. Burrow has not endorsed either Harris, who is the likely Democrat nominee after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, or former President Donald Trump though he was seen speaking with him and San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa at UFC 299 in March.

The team confirmed to WLWT on Tuesday that despite being a “white dude,” Burrow was not on the Harris call which did include celebrities like Mark Hamill, Josh Gad, and Jeff Bridges. Rumors that New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff were also on the fundraising call turned out to be false as well though the social media posts garnered millions of views.

Many posts, including one from X account, “Kamala’s Wins,” were later taken down but not before millions of users saw, commented, and shared the claim about Burrow.
“The claim about Burrow in particular had been propelled by a Harris supporter account called Kamala’s Wins, which has more than 500,000 followers. The account received more than 3.5 million views on a post-Monday night claiming the Bengals star is supporting Harris and was on the call,” CNN reported.
