MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough continued the attack on Republicans by trying to shame critics of Vice President Kamala Harris.
The “Morning Joe” host engaged in another rant on-air as he blasted “racist” attacks against the VP – and perhaps soon-to-be presidential nominee. Remarks about Harris being a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hire had Scarborough accusing Republicans of being “total idiots” as he spouted Tuesday morning.
“This is a real generational shift. You have Republicans being total idiots, attacking her as being a DEI candidate,” he said after gushing about how young Harris is compared to former President Trump.

“When I look at the vice president, I’m just looking at somebody that is a generation younger than Donald Trump. I think it is going to energize a lot of people that Democrats need to win this election,” he added.
Scarborough was reacting as well to comments made by Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) who called Harris a “DEI vice president.”
“The incompetency level is at an all-time high in Washington. The media propped up this president, lied to the American people for three years, and then dumped him for our DEI vice president,” Burchett wrote on X, sharing a video interview from NewsNation.

The Republican lawmaker doubled down during comments made to CNN’s Manu Raju at the Capitol on Monday.
“Biden said he’s gonna hire a Black female for vice president,” Burchett said. “What about white females? What about any other group?” When you go down that route, you take mediocrity and that’s what they have right now as a vice president.”
When asked directly, Burchett replied, “100 percent she was a DEI hire.”
Scarborough reacted Tuesday to the clip of Burchett by asking, “Is it 1951?”
“Is he serious…where does he get off saying this?” the former Republican congressman asked, touting Harris’s resume.

Mika Brzezinski, meanwhile, praised all of Harris’s imaginary accomplishments while wondering if this was “junior high” with the mockery of the VP, clearly lacking all self-awareness.
Republican nominee for vice president, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), introduced a bill last month to prohibit DEI programs in the federal government.
“The DEI agenda is a destructive ideology that breeds hatred and racial division,” Vance previously said in a statement. “It has no place in our federal government or anywhere else in our society. I’m proud to introduce this legislation, which would root out DEI from our federal bureaucracy by eliminating such programs and stripping funding for DEI policies anywhere it exists.”
