Megyn Kelly has her say after Tucker Carlson floated as potential Trump press secretary

With former President Donald Trump’s official GOP nomination and his running mate named, it seems a logical progression to begin filling other posts in his potential administration.

Tucker Carlson’s name was floated as a possible press secretary for the future 47th president, an idea that many on social media seemed to relish. Save for Megyn Kelly who found the thought to be an “insult” to her former Fox News colleague.

“Should Tucker Carlson be Press Secretary in the next Trump administration?” asked political commentator Ian Jaeger in a post on X.

“He is so far above that job pls don’t insult him,” Kelly responded.

Carlson, who was seen in the seating area alongside Trump at this week’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, has previously shot down any political aspirations.

Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., said in an interview at the RNC event that Carlson and JD Vance were his top VP choices for his father.

“I think Tucker can do a lot more from the outside, I don’t know that he ever wants it,” Trump Jr. said. “He and JD would’ve been the two people I would’ve loved to seen as a VP, but you also have to want the day job, and that’s a big part of it.”

And while some on X agreed with Kelly’s assertion that the White House spokesperson job would be beneath him, plenty of others loved the idea, if only for Carlson to experience a little “glorious retribution.”
