Fox News’s Brit Hume was celebrated on social media for his “salty” takedown of a fact-checking site.
The network’s chief political analyst dropped his usual composed demeanor to rip into Politifact for fact-checking a 2020 comment about President Joe Biden’s mental health.
“This, from 2020, has held up well. ‘Experts,’ my a**.,” Hume posted on X, linking to Politifact’s report in light of the week’s non-stop coverage of Biden’s disaster debate performance.

“Elderly people experiencing memory loss and other problems associated with age can go for periods, for hours at a time, and be just fine,” Hume said during coverage of the Sept. 29 presidential debate in 2020.
“I don’t think there’s any doubt Biden’s senile, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to show up tonight. … And now that the expectations for him have been set so low, you know if he comes out and doesn’t drool and gets through everything pretty well it could end up being quite a boost for him,” he added, speaking to then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Politifact pointed out that Hume was “the same age as Biden” and that he had been raising the alarm repeatedly about Biden “getting senile.”
“PolitiFact contacted experts in the health care of older people for their take on Hume’s use of the word senile and its application to Biden. They said Hume’s characterization is wrong,” the outlet noted.
One such expert, named Donald Jurivich called it “a shameful display of ageism and ignorance.”
“Hume said there isn’t ‘any doubt Biden’s senile,'” the report continued. “Actually, there’s quite a lot of doubt. Geriatrics experts said they do not observe Biden to be ‘senile’ — a word that may imply someone is slow moving and cognitively impaired.”
Hume’s post calling out Politifact landed amid ongoing chatter of Biden’s clear challenges in last week’s CNN debate, and amid the torrent of attention to his mental and physical decline in recent days with members of his own party calling for him to step down.
Social media users celebrated Hume’s roast.
Brit, with the receipts.

When someone claims to be an expert …..

When an article cites “experts” but name none or only one, you can bet that the number of “experts” they actually consulted was none or only one.
