“Friends” fans were struck with “FOMO” after a doughnut decision appeared limited to the UK and Ireland.
Series’ supporters may have delighted at “The One with Ross’s Wedding” when things that happened in London didn’t count, but an announcement from Krispy Kreme Sunday only had them feeling confused and cheated.
Marking the 30th anniversary of the show’s premiere, the popular doughnut brand released a limited-edition collection inspired by readily recognized imagery, phrases, and moments while begging the question, “Could these BE any more delicious?”
“Dive into our FRIENDS™ doughnuts collection and celebrate 30 years of the iconic TV show! From Joey’s ‘How You Doin’?’ mango & passion fruit delight to Ross’s ‘We were on a Coffee Break!’ café latte treat, & don’t miss Rachel’s trifle-inspired surprise,” read a post on Krispy Kreme UK’s social media with images of the four “Friends”-themed choices. “Get yours before they PIVOT out.”

Until July 21, confectionery connoisseurs can get the chocolate curl and green sprinkle-topped “Trifle” filled with strawberry and custard or the chocolate-iced glazed doughnut decorated with the opening theme fountain.
Additionally, while 100 winners would win a pair of tickets to “The FRIENDS™ Experience: The One in London,” set to open on Aug. 12, one lucky grand prize winner would take home a trip for two to “The One in New York City” that included round trip airfare, taxi transfers and three nights in a Manhattan hotel.
While the fanfare for the promotion was undeniable, stateside consumers couldn’t understand why the offerings were being limited to across the pond.
“I’m a huge ‘Friends’ fan and I would’ve loved to see these doughnuts in a Krispy Kreme shop in the US,” wrote one user on Instagram as another lamented, “This is where I am just confused by the decision-making process. Friends was a huge U.S. show (I know it is big internationally as well, but come on), yet this is a UK thing.”
“It’s a show in the U.S. So why do they get this in the UK and not here?” questioned someone else as those who had access to the options by the dozen cheered.

Whether or not the doughnuts would be coming to America remained undisclosed to the public as a representative for Krispy Kreme told Fox Business there was “nothing additional to share at this time.”
However, customers will be able to get their hands on a promotion for the summer solstice when, on Thursday, a dozen glazed doughnuts would be available for $1 with any purchase of a dozen doughnuts at regular price.
“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate summer’s official start than some sweet deals on our iconic original glazed dozens,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s global chief brand officer in a news release.
