President Joe Biden’s alleged vote buying added an international twist Friday with a promise aimed right toward swaying Hamas sympathizers.
The foreign policy failings of the resident-in-chief took on a new dimension as a push to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the Middle East included an allusion to dissident leftists threatening to withhold their votes. After first commenting on the conviction of his rival, former President Donald Trump, Biden turned to a three-phase proposal of a questionable origin.
“I know this is a subject on which people in this country feel deep, passionate convictions. And so do I. This has been one of the hardest, most complicated problems in the world. There’s nothing easy about this — nothing easy about it,” said Biden from the State Dining Room of the White House.
“For the past several months, my negotiators of foreign policy, intelligence community, and the like have been relentlessly focused not just on a ceasefire that would…inevitably be fragile and temporary but on a durable end to the war,” he contended. “That’s been the focus: a durable end to this war.”
To that end, the president introduced a three-phase plan, attributed to the Israelis, that would begin with a six week ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas of Gaza and an exchange of some Hamas hostages for hundreds of prisoners held by Israel. Phase two would mark the permanent end to hostilities with the “release of all remaining living hostages,” and phase three would involve rebuilding Gaza.
“And the United States will work with our partners to rebuild homes, schools, and hospitals in Gaza to help repair communities that were destroyed in the chaos of war,” announced Biden.
Israel has now offered a roadmap to an enduring ceasefire – and the release of all the hostages.

“The people of Israel should know they can make this offer without any further risk to their own security because they’ve devastated Hamas…forces over the past eight months,” claimed the Democratic leader as Israel had sought to root out the terrorists’ capabilities entirely from the region. “At this point, Hamas no longer is capable of carrying out another October 7th, which — one of the Israelis’ main objectives in this war and, quite frankly, a righteous one.”
Drawing a stark contrast between the more than two years of fighting between Ukraine and Russia that lacked a definitive end goal and avoided the possibility of negotiations, Biden argued, “We can’t lose this moment. Indefinite war in pursuit of an unidentified notion of ‘total victory’ will not bring Israel in — will not bring down — bog down — will only bog down Israel in Gaza, draining the economic, military, and…human resources, and furthering Israel’s isolation in the world.”
Of course, while it was clear that the executive was seeking a political drawdown to appease radical leftists who favor the terrorist slogan “from the river to the sea” to the point of actively campaigning against the incumbent, the purported agreement wasn’t all he’d claimed, according to the Israeli prime minister’s office.
Saturday, they responded to Biden’s peddled three-phase plan by clearly stating, “Israel’s conditions for ending the war have not changed: The destruction of Hamas military and governing capabilities, the freeing of all hostages and ensuring that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel. Under the proposal, Israel will continue to insist these conditions are met before a permanent ceasefire is put in place. The notion that Israel will agree to a permanent ceasefire before these conditions are fulfilled is a non-starter.”

This response comes as House congressional leaders officially invited Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress.
