Trump when asked about Biden’s next move on Israel: He’s not the one ‘calling the shots’

The latest White House moves on Gaza left former President Donald Trump slamming those “really calling the shots.”

Well before President Joe Biden’s geographical gaffes had him bringing Mexico and Ukraine into conversations on the Israel-Hamas war, cheat sheets, teleprompter notes and occasional guidance to and from podiums gave the impression that the octogenarian needed assistance remembering his own name.

As voters in states across the country flocked to the polls for Super Tuesday, Trump called “Fox & Friends” by phone where he spoke with Fox News co-hosts Brian Kilmeade and Lawrence Jones on a number of issues. Included in the topic of conversation was the latest attempt at a ceasefire in Gaza as the United States began dropping aid into the Middle Eastern country, raising concerns that “fascists and communists” were running the show.

“As you know, this president of the United States, when it comes to Israel, is getting protested,” Kilmeade said referencing Hamas sympathizers voting uncommitted in Michigan. “Now he seems to be turning on Israel. But the non-committed vote that Biden’s getting, they’re not going to like you either because you are firmly in Israel’s camp, correct? Are you on board with the way the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is taking the fight in Gaza?”

“You’ve got to finish the problem. You had a horrible invasion that took place,” said Trump of the Oct. 7 terror attack. “That would have never happened if I was president, by the way. As you know, Iran was broke, Brian. They were broke. They had no money for Hamas, for Hezbollah. They were broke. This would have never happened. And for another reason, they wouldn’t have done it to me. I guarantee you that. They did this ’cause they have no respect for Biden, and frankly, they got soft. And what happened here is incredible. That should never have happened. Likewise, Russia would never have attacked Ukraine, never. You know it. Everybody knows it. And that wouldn’t have happened. This is all on Biden.”

In a follow-up question, Kilmeade asked, “Do you think the president’s in the process of abandoning Israel?”

“I do believe that,” the GOP leader affirmed, “but I don’t think he knows where he is, frankly. I think you could ask him a question right now, ask him the same question — I don’t think he knows what to say about many subjects, actually. It’s really the people that surround him.”

“It’s the fascists and communists that surround him. They’re making the calls, they’re calling the shots. He’s not calling the shots,” asserted Trump.

On that note, Jones mentioned Vice President Kamala Harris’ call for an “immediate ceasefire” during remarks in Selma, Alabama. In response, the president said, “Look, I hate seeing what’s happening. Again, it would have never happened.”

The vice president’s demand had come ahead of a reported meeting with Israeli War Cabinet member Benny Gantz in Washington, D.C. while Biden remained away at Camp David.
