Fox News host Jesse Watters equated records of the president’s interview with investigators to “blackmail tapes” as he suggested a federal department now had leverage to use “against him at any time.”
Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on President Joe Biden’s classified documents investigation has kept the commander-in-chief’s cognitive abilities at the forefront. While some made desperate attempts to defend the octogenarian’s lapsing memory, Watters wondered Tuesday at whether or not the Justice Department had put the screws on the presidency.
Referencing Niccolò di Machiavelli’s “The Prince” and elected politicians’ familiarity with the centuries-old text, the host of “Jesse Watters Primetime” spoke to the disparate factions of support for Biden before directly voicing his concerns about the interview that had led Hur to determine the president shouldn’t be charged for mishandling classified documents.
“Biden’s DOJ has a five-hour tape that would end Biden’s re-election campaign,” he captioned the monologue where he made his case. “That tape’s now being leveraged over the president and can be used against him at any time. Not only is he compromised by the Chinese– he’s now subject to blackmail by his own administration. Worst of all– Biden’s base is now breaking off into factions, which is fatal to political power.”

As had been laid out in the report, Watters noted how Biden couldn’t recall when his son Beau Biden had died or “when he was vice president” and stated, “These limitations were so significant Biden wasn’t charged because the jury would take pity on him.”
“These tapes are blackmail tapes. If they’re released, Biden’s re-election campaign is finished,” he contended.
As it happened, on Monday the chairs of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, Judiciary and Ways and Means had sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland seeking the transcript “and any other records of this interview, including, but not limited to, any recordings, notes, or summaries of the interview,” that had been conducted for the investigation.

With the deadline to respond set to Feb. 19, Watters further wondered, “So if the public can’t see the tapes, will Joe Biden take a cognitive test?”
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had held to the narrative, “The president proves every day how he operates, how he thinks — right? — by dealing with world leaders, by making really difficult decisions on behalf of the — American people, whether it’s domestic, whether it’s national security. And so, he shows it every day on how he thinks, how he operates.”
Of course, the next day Biden demonstrated more erratic behavior as he informed the press how he would be taking questions at some other point before issuing an unusual closing statement “May God protect our speaker and I promise I’ll come back and answer questions later.”

Following a clip of Jean-Pierre’s remarks from Monday, Watters said of the powers-that-be, “Instead they’re relying on propaganda from allies to tell you not to believe what you see and hear with your own eyes and ears.”
“The president,” the Fox News host concluded in part, “isn’t assuring the nation that he’s equipped for four more years.”
