Chants of ‘Allahu Akbar’ ring out near 9/11 memorial

Chants of “Allahu Akbar” were shockingly heard last week at the 9/11 memorial near Ground Zero of the World Trade Center in New York where many, many Americans lost their lives at the hands of Islamic terrorists.

The horrifying exhibition was captured in a video showing protesters with Palestinian flags and banners gathered outside a doorway flanked by the NYPD. At the start of the clip, one person can be heard shouting “Allahu Akbar!” an Arabic phrase meaning “God is great” or “God is greatest.”

Newsweek is reporting that the video was allegedly taken outside the Oculus transportation hub at the World Trade Center on Thursday.

“Allahu Akbar,” known as the Takbir, is often used as a call to prayer for Muslimes. Imam Omar Suleiman, founder and president of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, stated that it is “a powerful declaration used by Muslims on many occasions and in many prayers,” according to Newsweek.

“It is a celebration of life, the first words fathers whisper in the ears of their newborns,” he wrote for CNN in 2017. “They are used to indicate gratitude when God bestows something upon you that you would have been incapable of attaining were it not for divine benevolence.”

Many Americans remember the phrase being used by Islamic terrorists, especially in carrying out deadly attacks against innocent victims across the globe. It was also what the terrorists were told to utter on 9/11 when they killed thousands of Americans in the bloodiest terror attack to ever take place in the United States.

Just one recent example of the phrase being used by a terrorist involved a French extremist in October shouting it as he stabbed a schoolteacher to death.

Anger on X simply boiled over at the utterance of the phrase and the location.

“I can not express how horrible this is. On 9/11, I was on the 50th floor of 1 NY Plaza standing at the floor to ceiling windows and watched the 2nd plane crash and explode into the WTC. That horrible act of terrorism is akin to the 10/7 attack upon Israel,” one X user named Bernadette wrote.

“How can you allow such an affront to happen, it is an insult to all the victims and their families,” another user asked, tagging Mayor Eric Adams’ office.

Some defended the man yelling “Allahu Akbar!”

“‘God is great’ is a War Cry now? Lmao. Equating an entire religion to being a militant group now. Sick,” user Chawles Bawkley AF responded to the outrage.

“The Gaza Health Ministry says airstrikes on the territory by Israeli forces have killed more than 21,000 people since the conflict erupted on October 7, the Associated Press reports. Israel launched an assault on Gaza following attacks by Hamas that killed an estimated 1,200 people in the country,” Newsweek reported.

It should be noted that the Gaza Health Ministry is controlled by Hamas and, therefore, many see its reported numbers as less than reliable.

There was much more outrage on X:
