Hunter skips Biden family Caribbean beach holiday, avoids leaving US amid legal troubles

President Joe Biden took members of his family on a vacation to the Caribbean island of St Croix while Hunter Biden remained in California.

Amid his legal woes facing tax-related charges and lying on a form when buying a gun, the 53-year-old son of the president was spotted Wednesday at the home of his attorney Kevin Morris.

The president, meanwhile, had taken off for a tropical retreat with first lady Jill Biden and granddaughter Natalie. Hunter did not join the family, however, though he has been previously spotted at several other family gatherings.

The embattled first son “appeared to find time to unwind, as he also enjoyed a lunch date with his wife, documentary filmmaker and activist Melissa Cohen,” Daily Mail noted.

“It is unclear why Hunter remained in the United States as his family departed for the Virgin Islands, with the 53-year-old potentially avoiding leaving the US amid his legal troubles,” Daily Mail reported.

“Hunter donned shades and a baseball cap for a low-key look while his wife wore a grey sweater, and were seen being escorted away from the restaurant by secret service in a large black SUV,” the outlet added.

“Earlier in the day, Hunter visited his attorney’s home in California, where Morris was caught in exclusive DailyMail.com images smoking a bong from his balcony while Hunter was in attendance earlier this year,” the UK paper noted. “Morris is known as Hunter’s ‘sugar brother’, and reportedly paid $2.8 million of the First Son’s tax debts on his behalf.”

Last year, Hunter Biden joined his father on Air Force One as the family took off for a vacation on Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
