Former President Donald Trump offered no apologies for his recent immigration remarks, choosing instead to double down on his warning about those illegally entering the country.
Trump addressed the meltdown by his critics while snapping back at unhinged comparisons to Adolf Hitler at a campaign rally in Iowa on Tuesday.
Democrats were apoplectic after his initial comments in New Hampshire over the weekend as he spoke about America’s wide open border and the dangers that presents.
“You know, when they let– I think the real number’s like 15, 16 million people into our country, when they do that, we got a lot of work to do. They’re poisoning the blood of our country. That’s what they’ve done,” he had said.
In an all-caps message posted to his Truth Social account, the former president asserted, “Illegal immigration is poisoning the blood of our nation. They’re coming from prisons, from mental institutions — from all over the world.”

The freak-out by Democrats and others on the left was immediate, with many claiming the remarks echoed a portion of Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” where he’d written, “All great cultures of the past perished only because the originally creative race died out from blood poisoning.”

On Tuesday, Trump got a chance to respond.
“They dump them on the border, and they pour into our country, and nobody said to check them,” he said from Waterloo, Iowa.
“It’s crazy what’s going on. They’re ruining our country. And it’s true. They’re destroying the blood of our country. That’s what they’re doing. They’re destroying our country,” the 2024 GOP frontrunner said at the campaign event.
“They don’t like it when I said that, and I never read Mein Kampf. They said, ‘Oh, Hitler said that’ – in a much different way,” he continued.
“Now they’re coming from all over the world. People all over the world. We have no idea. They could be healthy, they could be very unhealthy. They could bring in disease that’s gonna catch on in our country. But they do bring in crime. But they have them coming from all over the world,” the former president added.
Despite the backlash from his critics who never seem to make the distinction between legal and illegal immigrants, Trump found plenty of agreement from social media users.
The biggest difference between Hitler and Trump is that Trump has repeatedly said he loves people from all races and religions … As long as they come here legally.
