Gutfeld breaks down why the left isn’t supporting Israel: ‘Hamas is the new George Floyd, you know?’

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld explained the leftist bent toward Hamas over Israel with a ready comparison to George Floyd.

“They’re in trouble, and here’s why.”

With radicals at the reins regarding so many facets of the Democratic Party, it comes as little surprise to see figures aligning themselves with pro-Hamas messaging following the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Friday on “The Five,” Gutfeld tackled the maligning of Jews with a likeness to the narrative built around former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin and contended that support for jihadists slipped “right into the BLM costume.”

Amid reports that Vice President Kamala Harris has been against Israel in their war with Hamas and President Joe Biden’s plummeting poll numbers, the Fox News personality first disabused the left of their favored shots against former President Donald Trump.

“It’s nothing about record,” he said after rattling off some of the preferred hyperbolic claims used to demonize the GOP figure as some despot. “It’s about the fantasies that they create. They’re in trouble, and here’s why.”

“They took the pro-Hamas cause and they slipped it right into the BLM costume,” contended Gutfeld. “Never mind the radicalism, the violence, the sexual atrocity; they took the costume of the oppressed and they switched it. Now the Jews are the oppressor.”

“It’s not young people they should worry about in their party,” furthered the late-night figure to the panel from “The Five.”

“They should worry about Jews finally seeing the handwriting on the wall. You are the new oppressor. You are the new cops. You are the new Derek Chauvin. And Hamas is the new George Floyd, you know?” he continued.

Unlike the rhetoric used by the left against Trump, Gutfeld’s point was well-supported by evidence of radicals shifting support, including BLM Chicago’s initial response to the terror attack on Israel that positioned the group with those responsible for the slaughter of hundreds of men, women and children by depicting a paraglider with the message “I STAND WITH PALESTINE.”

Likewise, conservative writer Christopher Rufo had predicted a season of BLM-style rioting akin to the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election heading into November 2024 with support for Hamas under the guise of Gaza supplanting the sympathies for Floyd who died while in police custody.

“Progressives are restless and ready,” wrote Rufo. “Left-wing activists have established a constellation of institutions to support public demonstrations. Protest NGOs, media entities, research centers, black-bloc (Antifa) networks, and bail funds are all finely tuned to mobilize mass movements. The Left carefully manages its licit and illicit factions: progressive political leaders tacitly delegate the dirty work to anarchist and racialist factions, which can change costumes–for example, from a BLM mask to a Palestinian keffiyeh–at any moment.”

On his point, Gutfeld concluded, “We desperately need to have a correction in the Democrat Party because, you know, we’ve been saying this for years — a strong Democrat Party makes for a strong country. We need to have two sides of the same coin, right? And they have to be based on common values. But you can’t have common values if you separate everybody into identity boxes and then turn them on each other. And that’s what the Democratic Party is suffering from right now.”
