In a very awkward exchange, CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) if she thought Vice President Kamala Harris was a good running mate for President Biden in 2024.
She deflected several times on the question while speaking with Cooper on CNN Wednesday, claiming that the vice president doesn’t do much and that Biden thinks she’s a good fit and that is all that matters.
“Is Vice President Kamala Harris the best running mate for this president?” Cooper asked Pelosi.
“He thinks so, and that’s what matters,” she tellingly answered.

“Do you think so?” Cooper pressed.
Pelosi pivoted and did not respond to the question, instead waxing poetic over Harris’ so-called accomplishments while making it obvious that she’s not that keen on Harris as Biden’s running mate.
“And by the way, she’s very politically astute. I don’t think people give her enough credit. She’s, of course, values-based, consistent with the president’s values and the rest,” she asserted.
“And people don’t understand. She’s politically astute. Why would she be vice president if she were not? But when she was running for attorney general in California, she had 6% in the polls – 6% in the polls. And she politically, astutely made her case about why she would be good, did her politics, and became attorney general. So, people shouldn’t underestimate what Kamala Harris brings to the table,” Pelosi said, chastising Americans.
Simple yes or no answer would have done it but in honor of Kamala she launched into a heaving, hefty serving of word salad.

Cooper was not giving up on the issue. He continued to bulldog Pelosi on the topic.
“But do you think she is the best running mate though?” he asked once again.
“She’s the vice president of the United States. People say to me, ‘Well, why isn’t she doing this or that?’ I say, ‘Because she’s the vice president.’ That’s the job description. You don’t do that much. You know, you, you’re a source of strength, inspiration, intellectual resource, and the rest, and you– and I think she’s represented our country very well at home and abroad,” Pelosi damningly concluded.
That was the most DC slight I’ve ever seen. https://t.co/4EQNONTgTb

Pelosi’s responses were couched politically and were worded very, very carefully. Not only was it a bad look for Harris, but Biden and Democrats in general.
Users on X are not as dense as Pelosi evidently believes and raked her over the coals for not giving a simple answer. They pretty much think Harris is toast:
If the answer was yes she would have just said so

not since the voice told poor Dorothy, “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.” Has there been a less ringing endorsement of anyone.
