The 63-year-old man went to an AMC theater located at 2315 N. Federal Highway in Pompano Beach, Florida, on July 10 shortly before 10 pm with his wife. The movie he was viewing was the new “Mission Impossible” flick, according to the Daily Mail.

But when he went to sit in his reserved seat, someone was already there.

The man and his wife reportedly approached the couple in their seats and gently asked for them back. The victim got a brutal beatdown for it as he tried to escape.

Police are now looking for the attacker and have released security footage following the assault.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office stated that the unidentified man began “aggressively getting in the victim’s face” and the incident turned violent.

As the attacker menacingly moved toward his victim, as te video showed, the man stepped back onto the stairs in the theater’s aisle as a trailer for the latest “Mission Impossible” installment played on screen.

The attacker continued to move toward his victim and then shoved him against a railing, as the video showed. At one point, the victim lost his balance and fell down the aisle stairs. He was descended upon by the aggressor who stood above him and rained down punches on the man’s head and face. He only stopped when witnesses pulled him off his victim.

The victim was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital with numerous injuries to his head and face according to a police release. His current medical condition is unknown.

After beating the man relentlessly, the attacker and a woman who appeared to be his date walked nonchalantly out of the theater according to footage.

The attacker’s face is clearly visible in the footage. Despite that fact, the police have not been able to apprehend him yet. They are asking members of the public with information regarding the man’s identity to contact the sheriff’s office at 954-601-5905. If apprehended, he faces assault and other charges.

According to Deadline, the Florida incident is similar to one that happened last month in New Mexico.

Enrique Padilla, age 19, allegedly shot a man to death in a weekend dispute over reserved movie seats. The shooting happened late on a Sunday night in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The alleged shooter has since been captured.
