Disney takes back claim that photos of new ‘politically correct’ Snow White movie were ‘fake’

After rushing to claim new diverse pictures of Snow White and the group formerly known as the “seven dwarfs” were “fake,” Disney disingenuously reversed course and is now saying the photos were not “official,” claiming there was a “misunderstanding” in a correction notice.

A story broke on Friday from the Daily Mail showing a number of pictures of a Hispanic Snow White, Rachel Zegler, with a group of seven individuals that only included one dwarf. One of the seven is a black woman. The diverse cast is allegedly slated to be used in Disney’s latest live-action adaptation of the classic fairytale. In the piece, Disney is accused of morphing the dwarfs into “magical creatures” in order to be “politically correct.”

Then word came down from the Daily Beast that the photos were “fake” after conservatives exposed Disney for its ongoing woke machinations being used to revise classic stories. A Disney spokesperson reportedly disputed the authenticity of the images and was seeking a correction from the Daily Mail.

“The photos are fake and not from our production. We are currently trying to have the Daily Mail issue a correction,” a Disney spokesperson told the Daily Beast in an interview.

In an impressive backtrack, Disney then did an about-face and claimed that the photos were legitimate after all but were not “official.”

“Editor’s Note: This story has been updated to reflect that… the studio later said the photos were from the production but were not official photos,” the Daily Beast said in an update to its original posting.

Disney asserted in a statement that they are nixing the seven dwarfs to “avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film.”

In January 2022, Disney announced that the “seven dwarfs” would be referred to as “magical creatures” to “avoid reinforcing stereotypes” after criticism by “Game of Thrones” actor Peter Dinklage, who has dwarfism.

“Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback [when] they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,’” Dinklage remarked in January 2022, according to Fox News.

You’re progressive in one way but then you’re still making that f***ing backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together. What the f*** are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I’m not loud enough,” the actor added.

That outrage was just enough to cause the House of Mouse to gut one of its most famous fairytales in the name of diversity and political correctness.

“To avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, we are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community. We look forward to sharing more as the film heads into production after a lengthy development period,” a Disney spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter at the time.

That’s not the only change to the 1937 animated classic either, evidently. Prince Charming has reportedly been booted from the storyline so that Snow White can follow her leadership dreams. The fairytale is being so dramatically redone that it hardly resembles the original version and it is awash in gag-worthy diversity and wokism.

The upcoming remake is set to come out next year and was written by “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig and directed by Marc Webb.
