Cori Bush celebrates Fourth of July by demanding reparations

Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) hatefully denounced America’s Founding Fathers on the Fourth of July and called for reparations for black Americans under the guise of social justice, while trashing the nation over “stolen land” and slavery.

“The Declaration of Independence was written by enslavers and didn’t recognize Black people as human. Today is a great day to demand Reparations Now ✊,” Bush tweeted.

She was joined by fellow “Squad” member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) who tweeted, “This July 4th, we must remember that we stand on stolen land toiled by enslaved Africans and recommit ourselves to the fight for freedom, equality, & justice so that these ideals are accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few.”

Bush recently introduced a bill to Congress outrageously calling for $14 trillion in slavery reparations. The House has yet to vote on the legislation.

“The United States has a moral and legal obligation to provide reparations for the enslavement of Africans and its lasting harm on the lives of millions of black people,” Bush said during a press conference in May. “America must provide reparations if we desire a prosperous future for all.”

Following Bush’s statement on reparations, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene responded by making a claim that also got a ton of reaction. Greene and Bush have a history of public feuds and this one exploded over Bush’s comments on Independence Day.

Greene slammed Bush in response to her call for reparations, calling Bush out on her 2022 vote in favor of sending billions of dollars to Ukraine to help the Eastern European country fend off a Russian invasion.

“Just stop,” Greene tweeted Tuesday. “You voted to send $113 Billion to the white people and white Nazi army of Ukraine.”

Bush slammed Greene in a response on Twitter, sharing a screenshot of a Newsweek headline that read, “Marjorie Taylor Greene Bought Defense Stock Day Before Slamming ‘Profitable’ War.”

“This you?” Bush tweeted, speciously responding to Greene’s smackdown.

Both Bush and Bowman were ripped on social media for opportunistically denouncing the United States on Independence Day:
