Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy put corporate media complicity to the “federal administrative police state” on blast Sunday, scathing CNN’s “pathetic” Dana Bash over President Joe Biden’s perceived role in former President Donald Trump’s indictment.

The businessman joined Bash on “State of the Union” for a nearly 10-minute interview focused on the indictment related to Trump’s possession of documents marked classified. No sooner had the candidate been given the opportunity to speak, he disabused the host of her arguments, cutting to concerns of a weaponized Justice Department.
“Reading that indictment and looking at the selective omissions of both fact and law, Dana, I’m even more convinced that a pardon is the right answer here,” he began when asked if the unsealing of the 37 charges had changed his position on that front.
“This is a selective prosecution. I think it is irresponsible not to have included any treatment of those facts or law in this indictment,” Ramaswamy continued, having brought up the cherry-picked facts and lack of reference to the Presidential Records Act. “It reeks of politicization which is why I want to go back to the top question that the media actually should be asking: ‘What did Biden tell [Attorney General Merrick] Garland? What did Garland tell [special counsel] Jack Smith?’ That’s what you need to get to the bottom of.”
Jumping to defend the administration, Bash may as well have made reference to a pinky promise as she countered, “The White House insists that [Biden] has absolutely no connection to this — that the whole reason the special counsel was put in place is to take it out of politics.”
Later on, as she continued her contention that the president had nothing whatsoever to do with the indictment, Ramaswamy noted the hierarchy of the federal government and that the “Department of Justice reports into the president of the United States.”
“But there’s no evidence,” Bash tried, “there’s absolutely no evidence, unless you can show me some, that President Biden had anything to do with this prosecution. That is why he put two layers in between.”
One-time acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell added his own shot to Ramaswamy’s bout with Bash, posting to Twitter, “Dana Bash hasn’t even asked Joe Biden or Merrick Garland a single question — but she spins for them anyway. pathetic.”

Do you really need to ask the questions when you have been a journalist as long as she has?

Pathetic is right.

Of course, the presidential candidate wasn’t through as he called out the media’s role in facilitating the banana republic-style political persecution of the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican nomination.
“I think it is shameful that I, as a competitor to President Trump in this race, have to ask questions that the media isn’t asking. The job of the political media, if it has one job, is to hold the U.S. government accountable,” Ramaswamy asserted.
“You’re seeing the media do the bidding of the U.S. government,” he contended further. “Ask the question, get to the bottom of what Biden told Garland and what Garland told Jack Smith. If the same shoe fit the other foot, you would not take their word at face value.”
The host attempted one more defense of her peers as she made the inane argument, “We know how to be good journalists ’cause we do it every single day.”
Fantastic, sir, HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!
