Former President Donald Trump laid into his “Stalinist” rival Saturday with a concise message on the stakes of the 2024 presidential election and his ongoing political persecution.

“Either the communists destroy America, or we destroy the communists.”

Speaking at two Republican Party conventions, first in Columbus, Georgia and then in Greensboro, North Carolina, Trump made his first public remarks since his federal indictment pertaining to his possession of documents marked classified.

Ahead of a scheduled appearance in federal court Tuesday, the president reiterated his position that the weaponized use of the Justice Department against him represented the broader attack against the American people and the movement to expel the deep state from the hall of power.

“Every time I fly over a blue state, I get a subpoena. ‘Put him before the grand jury!'” he suggested. “I never thought such a thing could happen in America.”

“I’ve put everything on the line for you and I will never yield,” Trump asserted and added, “I’m the only candidate who has what it takes to smash this corrupt system.”

Turning his attention to President Joe Biden, he maintained that the indictment was part of the ongoing attacks against him that included the Russian collusion hoax and impeachments stating, “They tried to frame me for treason and now they’re trying to do it again.”

“Biden is trying to jail his leading political opponent…just like they do in Stalinist Russia or in communist China,” Trump slammed.

“We stand up to the radical left Democrats and their lawless partisan prosecutors,” he rallied.

At one point he stated, “We are a nation in decline, and now these radical left lunatics want to interfere with our elections by using law enforcement.”

“It’s totally corrupt and we can’t let it happen. We will drive out the globalists, we will cast out the communists, and we will throw off the sick political class that hates our country,” Trump declared.

When speaking in Iowa earlier this month, Trump made his case for referring to the problems befalling the country as being “sick” rather than “woke.” Similarly, he argued that the “deep state” barely covered how bad the situation has become.

“The stakes of this election could not be more stark: Either we have a deep state or we have a democracy,” the president established. “We’re gonna have one or the other, and we’re right at the tipping point. Right now we’re way leaning toward deep state, but deep state isn’t strong enough. It’s really a communist country and a Marxist country. Deep state’s not strong enough. Deep state — that was a nice term compared to what we’re doing.”

After his indictment from a Manhattan Grand Jury earlier this year over business records, the president had benefitted from a bump in polling as supporters rallied against the persecution. It remains to be seen with a more established field of candidates what, if any, impact the federal charges will have on public opinion.
