‘You have no right!’ Gutfeld lays into Tarlov when she demands people use ‘correct pronouns’

There were fireworks on “The Five” after leftist co-host Jessica Tarlov told the other panelists that they should honor a person’s chosen pronouns during a discussion on transgenders, claiming it was respectful, which set off Greg Gutfeld who told her that she had no right to tell him what to say.

The contentious exchange took place during Thursday’s airing of the show.

The conversation started out discussing transgender swimmer Lia Thomas. Former medaled swimmer and competitor Riley Gaines has been aggressively taking a stance against transgender athletes participating in women’s sports such as Thomas.

Tarlov spewed the leftist talking point that there has allegedly been a “tremendous spike in attacks and violent crime targeted at transgender people because that’s something that’s going on all across the country.”

“It is important to treat people with dignity and respect when you are using or when you are talking about these issues. And part of that is using the correct pronouns,” she asserted.

Co-host Katie Pavlich simply responded to that demand by saying, “No.” Other panelists shared that sentiment.

“Yes, it is. It doesn’t hurt you at all to call Lia Thomas…” Tarlov began before others jumped in.

It makes me a liar,” co-host Joey Jones told her.

Gutfeld couldn’t take it anymore and weighed in on Tarlov’s ridiculous demand.

“Don’t compel my language. Do not – you have no right to compel me to say anything. That’s the beauty of this world,” Gutfeld informed the leftist as bluntly as possible.

The panelists did agree during the segment that Tarlov had the right to express her opinion but that didn’t mean they had to submit to it and comply with her offensive pronoun demand.

“On the feminism issue though, women in general and feminists… are all supportive of trans people and trans rights. That doesn’t necessarily mean that we are immune to understanding the competitive aspect of what this is on the college level, the high school level, and beyond…” Tarlov commented, attempting to straddle the fence on the issue while making a false claim.

Jones attempted to go to a commercial break, but Gutfeld wasn’t finished with the subject or with Tarlov.

There’s a trend in Jessica’s defense when she talked about the homeless and trans, that when you make a criticism, you then connect it to attacks against these groups. We should be able to criticize anything and not be blamed for a rise and attacks against trans. Trans are maybe a tenth of a percent of the population. You have to work really hard to go seek one out,” Gutfeld pointed out.

Tarlov clapped back, making a nonsequitur accusation, stating, “To that point then, whenever we talk about gun violence and people point out that more white people are killed by cops than black people are. That’s an important part of the conversation that you would bring up.”

Unfortunately, Gutfeld did not get a chance to slap her down over that specious argument because the show went to a commercial break.
