Nearly two years since businessman Mike Lindell was banned from Twitter, the MyPillow guy made his triumphant return to the social media platform Friday and didn’t hold back when he posted his fiery first tweet.
As one of the most ardent supporters of then-President Donald Trump and a vocal as well as financial backer in seeking answers regarding concerns over the integrity of the 2020 presidential election, Lindell’s Twitter account was among those shutdown not long after the president himself had been kicked off the platform in January 2021. Undeterred by efforts to silence him, cancel him by removing his products from retail locations and ruin his business by debanking his accounts, Lindell came out of the digital penalty box swinging.
“I’m back!! Thank you @elonmusk and by the way,” he posted with added emphasis, “MELT DOWN THE ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES AND TURN THEM INTO PRISON BARS!”

The conservative entrepreneur was undoubtedly referencing the highly maligned Dominion Voting Systems machines used at polling places across the country in 2020 that had been a focus of Lindell’s own investigations into discrepancies with the results. His claims had resulted in the company filing a $1.3 billion lawsuit against the businessman which he had welcomed as it would allow him to present evidence in a court of law that he argued showed “China and other countries used their machines to steal the election.”
While Dominion and Twitter’s previous leadership, who explained of the ban that Lindell had “been permanently suspended due to repeated violations of our Civic Integrity Policy,” vociferously opposed the messaging, with more than 160,000 likes and nearly 30,000 retweets at the time of this posting, support for his return was widespread among ordinary folks.
In May, Lindell had attempted to evade his ban from Twitter by creating an alternative account where he was briefly able to post from before getting booted once more.
Among those showing support for the businessman’s return to the social media platform was former news anchor and 2022 Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake who has also remained stalwart in her in voicing concerns over election irregularities.
Shortly after Lindell announced his return to Twitter, Lake quote tweeted the post and wrote, “Greatest Tweet EVER! Welcome back! We missed you.”

Currently, the conservative firebrand is pursuing her own legal challenge as it pertains to the results of her race against Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D) who had been declared the winner of the election despite numerous reports of voter disenfranchisement with faulty equipment and poll workers turning citizens away.
Along with his continued push for resolution on the 2020 presidential election, Lindell recently announced his bid to challenge Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel for her leadership position. He is joined by attorney Harmeet Dhillon who also announced a bid for RNC chair.
Others joined Lake in showing support for his return.
