U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) appears to be a slow learner, including when it comes to the public school system.
The Trump-loathing California politician, who is practically an MSNBC co-host, continues to self-own on social media with no self-awareness.
The authoritarian, condescending Democrat (is there any other kind?) apparently took exception to a remark by U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who said that “we are putting parents back in charge of their kids’ education.”
The latter statement may apparently be a reference to GOP support for grassroots parents from all walks of life and political persuasions who have become understandably concerned about what’s going on in the classroom.
That is, curriculum implemented by often-stubborn school boards and agenda-driven, union-protected teachers that includes divisive CRT as well as age-inappropriate sexual content instead of reading, writing, mathematics, and history in all its dimensions rather than radical indoctrination.
Please tell me what I’m missing here. What are we doing next? Putting patients in charge of their own surgeries? Clients in charge of their own trials? When did we stop trusting experts. This is so stupid. pic.twitter.com/VZRMZpp234

Vaccine and mask mandates are also part of the well-documented dissatisfaction with these “experts,” to borrow Swalwell’s terminology. Parenthetically, the expert cohort has not exactly enhanced its credibility, particularly during the COVID era.
“Please tell me what I’m missing here. What are we doing next? Putting patients in charge of their own surgeries? Clients in charge of their own trials? When did we stop trusting experts. This is so stupid,” Swalwell — who somehow has one million-plus Twitter followers — wrote on the social media platform.
As an attorney, rather than throwing around pejoratives like “stupid,” he should already know that clients can hire, and fire, their lawyers if they are dissatisfied with the representation.
Fang Fang’s alleged friend and failed 2020 Democrat presidential candidate, moreover, is missing a lot as many on Twitter (apart from the left-wing contingent), including the tireless Internet sleuth Libs of TikTok, informed the unrepentant Russia-collusion hoaxer.
Here is just a sample of the schooling that he received:

Experts disagree with each other all the time. That should tell you something.
Yes Eric, you should be in charge of your health and seek information & get 2nd opinions. And yes, you as a parent should be in charge of the quality of education your child receives.

Isn’t Tim Scott talking about educational choice? Pretty sure patients do shop around to doctors/surgeons they prefer and clients shop around for lawyers.

Good lord your analogy was terrible and in no way relates to what he said. Children are not patients and children are not clients you nitwit.

Parents choose the medical procedures their child will undergo, which doctors will perform it. Clients choose which lawyer will represent them, whether they will go to trial, etc. This example is a perfect one for why parents should choose schools, teachers, and even curriculum.

As a physician, I have never gone against the desires and consent of my patients, you are suggesting that in the case of the parent-teacher relationship, that their should not be consent and consent should be ridiculed. AMAZING. #authoritarian to be sure.

I know you’re not that bright, Eric, but yes, patients are in charge of their own medical treatment, and clients are in charge of their own legal proceedings. People hire “experts” to advise and provide services, not override their autonomy.

People like Swalwell are offended by school choice because they believe the State should own your children https://t.co/vxVowOn0Cg

…?
patients dictate what they want done, whether they want it done, and how they want it done. and the attorney is beholden to the client.
more relevantly, and unlike our education system, if you don’t like your doctor or lawyer, you can fire them and go someplace else. https://t.co/8x0F7sZt77

I trust a teacher to teach mathematics, reading skills, etc…not to add CRT questions, or assign gender studies that none of them are professionals in. Make it a college course, but a teacher is supposed to be a professional in core studies, not theoretical junk social issues.

1) teaching school kids is not on par with providing a legal defense or surgery.
2) one’s child is not locked in to a certain hospital, lawyer based on their address.
3) you’re a joke.— Jeff Johnson (really) (@phillyprnc) November 10, 2022
You slept with a Chinese spy and farted live on television.
To your point, imagine being such a scumbug that you think citizens are too stupid to know what is going with their schools.— Jacob Airey (@realJacobAirey) November 10, 2022
Parents ARE the experts when it comes to the needs of their own children. https://t.co/yKtrH3ogHb
