Kellyanne Conway’s ‘blue wall’ counter: ‘I still think this is about Joe Biden,’ who Dems are ‘stuck’ with

Pollster and political advisor Kellyanne Conway still believes that leftist politics is all about President Biden’s unpopularity and the fact that Democrats are essentially stuck and can’t turn to Vice President Kamala Harris for leadership in his wake.

Fox News host Bret Baier sat down with Conway to discuss the midterm election results, especially in Pennsylvania where stroke-impaired Democrat John Fetterman beat Trump-endorsed Dr. Mehmet Oz. But she believes the issue of broken leadership in Washington, DC goes way beyond that.

“If this in this environment, in this set of policy issues… inflation, immigration, crime in a place like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh doesn’t set the table for Republicans, what does? We know the map looks a lot better next time in 2024, but this is pretty stunning,” Baier told Conway.

“It’s pretty stunning and I don’t think that John Fetterman in the United States Senate is gonna bring anybody back to their wish fulfillment of having a more moderate, centrist governing body in the upper chamber,” she responded.

The former advisor to Trump noted that Fetterman has many more problems than just his health.

“I mean his problem was not his health. I hope he lives another 50 years, God bless him. His problem is he’s against fracking in an energy-rich state. But that was said many times. The problem is he looked into a camera and said, ‘You can release up to one-third of all criminals and nobody will feel less safe.’ But that was said many times,” Conway noted.

“So people know what they got here. The question is how does that translate into a Washington that’s already seen as broken and ineffective. But you’re right, Bret. I can’t think of a more straightforward, less complicated issue set that was more in favor of one party than this particular one,” she continued.

Then she turned to President Biden and his unlikeability.

“The big question though I still think is about Joe Biden for this reason. He was not welcome on the campaign trail. If he runs in 2024, he can’t tell himself don’t campaign with me. He is going to be the leader of the party. And I think this is going to be a big reckoning in the Democratic Party for this reason. They can’t turn it over to their vice president. They’d love to say let’s turn it over to our first female vice president of color and tell Joe Biden you made history by our ability to elevate her too,” Conway explained.

“So I think they’re a little stuck. It may not feel that way tonight when Fetterman wins the Senate. I think they’re a little stuck now. What happens… and you know if democracy was really on the ballot. And what do they tell America tomorrow? Did we fall apart? Did the world actually come to an end? … They’re invoking Hitler and Stalin, it’s a disgrace,” she remarked.

“So, I hope Joe Biden comes out and says let’s unify, it’s a split country, a split Senate, and has something to say like that and he’s not shown the ability to do that yet,” Conway concluded.
