Katie Hobbs accuses Kari Lake of ‘inciting threats’ after campaign HQ is allegedly burglarized. Big mistake!

Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D) made it glaringly apparent that she is losing after she blamed her gubernatorial opponent, Republican Kari Lake, for her campaign headquarters getting broken into and burglarized.

Hobbs petulantly accused Lake and her allies of “inciting threats” against her on Wednesday in a move that whiffs of desperation just before the midterm elections.

Phoenix police officers stated that they are looking into the burglary that occurred at Hobbs’s campaign office where “items were taken from the property sometime during the night.” They have a suspect on video who oddly did not state he was a Republican.

“This is still an active investigation with detectives checking all security cameras in attempts to identify and locate the subject involved,” police said in a statement that was obtained by CNN. No suspects have been identified and the police have not elaborated on exactly what was stolen.

Hobbs and the Arizona Democratic Party are pointing fingers at Lake, brazenly accusing her of somehow being responsible for the break-in. They charge that her so-called “incendiary rhetoric” has given birth to violent threats against them.

Nicole DeMont, who manages Hobbs’ gubernatorial campaign, told CNN in a statement that “Secretary Hobbs and her staff have faced hundreds of death threats and threats of violence over the course of this campaign. Throughout this race, we have been clear that the safety of our staff and of the Secretary is our number one priority.”

“Let’s be clear: for nearly two years, Kari Lake and her allies have been spreading dangerous misinformation and inciting threats against anyone they see fit,” DeMont asserted. “The threats against Arizonans attempting to exercise their constitutional rights and their attacks on elected officials are the direct result of a concerted campaign of lies and intimidation.”

Lake called the slander “defamatory” and said that Hobbs’ team’s attempt to blame her is “trying to deflect from her own abysmal campaign and the fact that you know, nobody even knows where her campaign office is.”

“And are you guys buying that? Are you really buying that? Because this sounds like a Jussie Smollett part two,” she quipped in answer to a reporter’s question. “The person who broke in probably didn’t even realize it was a campaign office. It’s really sad. And the fact that you guys are running with this story, shame on you.”

CNN correspondent Kyung Lah tweeted, “.@katiehobbs blames rhetoric from Lake campaign. @KariLake: ‘I can’t believe that she would blame my amazing people or blame me… I don’t even know where her campaign office is. I’m assuming it’s in a basement somewhere because that’s where she’s been campaigning.'”

Kari Lake is endorsed by former President Trump and is said to be ahead of Hobbs by 3.2 points currently in the race, according to RealClearPolitics.
