Biden raises eyebrows with latest gaffe that Fetterman’s wife will be a ‘great lady in the Senate’

On Thursday, human gaffe machine Joe Biden teamed up with another cognitively challenged politician from Pennsylvania, Democrat Senate hopeful John Fetterman, and the jokes practically wrote themselves as the president joined the media in trying to push the flailing candidate across the finish line.

The nation’s 46th president traveled to the Keystone State where he appeared with Fetterman at an event in Pittsburgh, an occasion so important that the hulking “tattooed everyman” felt compelled to actually clean himself up, trading his trademark grungy shorts and hoodie for a jacket and tie to have his praises sung by “good old Joe from Scranton,” a local legend who despite his own struggles still has serious pull with union members who devoutly support Democrats.

Seemingly determined to prove his old boss Barack Obama right who reportedly once remarked, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up,” the 79-year-old Biden did exactly that, raising eyebrows with his gaffe about Fetterman’s wife Gisele whom he appeared to suggest would be the one who is really calling the shots if voters punch his ticket to the U.S. Senate in three weeks.

“John, thank you very much for running. I really do appreciate it. And Gisele, you’re going to be a great, great lady in the Senate,” he said while stumping for Fetterman, one of a small handful of Democrats who are desperate enough to bring in the radioactive Biden for help.

The president’s curious remark generated plenty of buzz on Twitter, none of it reflecting well on either Biden or Fetterman.

“Biden’s dementia often has him blurt out what his handlers are planning,” wrote Monica Crowley, a former top Treasury Department official. “Here he is, telling Fetterman’s wife that she’ll be “a great, great lady in the Senate.”

More reactions to Joe’s peculiar comment:

Gisele Barreto Fetterman also did her best Jill Biden imitation, shielding her befuddled bubby from inquisitive reporters who might ask inconvenient questions.

Fetterman’s once impressive lead over celebrity television physician Dr. Mehmet Oz has evaporated as the more voters see of Fetterman – whose stroke earlier this year has clearly left him severely debilitated – the more concerned that they are about his ability to stand up to the rigors of the duties of a United States senator with all the marbles likely resting on an upcoming debate.

Biden’s slip of the tongue certainly isn’t helpful to a man who would have been far better served if he had just rejected help from the POTUS like nearly every other Democrat candidate not named Charlie Crist has.

Fetterman did not speak at the event.
