After NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace viciously attacked the sport’s reigning champion, Kyle Larson, following a collision on the track during a race on Sunday, he put his hands on an official who tried to direct him to an awaiting ambulance, which is NASCAR protocol after a collision.
In the wake of the altercation at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, there were calls for a hefty fine, penalties, and a suspension for Wallace’s behavior. Some even called for potential criminal charges over the incident.
Larson hitting Wallace’s car caused it to go up against the wall and it appeared that Wallace intentionally retaliated by slamming his car into Larson’s which caused both of them to crash, taking the two drivers out of the race. Following the incident, Wallace got out of his car and physically assaulted the 2021 champ.
NewsBusters Managing Editor Curtis Houck tweeted a clip showing Wallace getting into it with a NASCAR official who was attempting to get the driver’s attention following the attack. In the snippet, it looks like Wallace threw the official’s hand off of him and refused to slow down or stop and listen to what he was being told. The whole altercation smacked of road rage and a tantrum by Wallace.

“I obviously made an aggressive move into three and got in low and got loose and chased it up a bit,” Larson stated in an interview, seemingly unsurprised by Wallace’s actions. “And yeah, I mean, he got to my right front, and I got him tight into the wall and knew he was gonna retaliate. So, like I said, I mean, he had a reason to be mad, but his race wasn’t over until he retaliated. So it is what it is. Just, yeah, just aggression turned into frustration and he retaliated.”

Larson contended that it was not appropriate for Wallace to have retaliated at that speed. Things could have ended very badly for both of them.
“I think with everything that’s been going on here lately with head injuries and all that, fractured ligaments and all that I don’t think it’s probably the right thing to do,” he commented.

While Larson appeared to not be angry following the dust-up, Wallace had a different reaction altogether.
When an interviewer noted that Cliff Daniels, who is one of the top NASCAR crew chiefs, claimed that Wallace’s actions were retaliation against Larson, Wallace snapped at him.
“Cliff is smart enough to know that how easy these cars break so when you get shoved into the fence, like deliberately like he did, trying to force me to lift, steering was gone,” Wallace answered before smirking, “he just so happened to be there.”
“It was just a piss poor move on his execution,” he arrogantly stated.
NASCAR DRAMA!

“When situations like this happen, Bubba, at this speed, is retaliation an acceptable thing?” the interviewer asked Wallace.
“Stop fishing,” Wallace bit at him. “Stop fishing.”
“I’m not fishing. I’m just asking you,” the interviewer replied. “Let’s also talk about the message you wanted to send to Kyle by going up to him after the incident.”
"I don't lift."

“He knows,” Wallace responded. “He knows that what he did was wrong. He wanted to question what I was doing. He never cleared me so just hate it for our team, our McDonald’s Toyota Camry was super solid.”
“Is @BubbaWallace going to be arrested?” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton asked on Twitter.
“This crap is why it’ll be hard for Bubba to have full respect from the fan base and probably other drivers,” Houck also tweeted. “It was UNSAFE given how piss poor these cars are. If Larson or Bubba himself ends up diagnosed with a concussion this week and misses time, it’ll look even worse.”
“Bubba Wallace, who falsely claimed that someone hung a noose in his garage last year, violently attacks one of the only Asian drivers in NASCAR. Violence against Asians need to stop,” Twitter commenter Ian Miles Cheon chimed in.
(In reality, Wallace did not make the initial claim but bought 100% into the fabricated racial narrative.)

Social media was on fire with those attacking Bubba Wallace for his disgraceful behavior:
bubba wallace not only wrecked larson at high speed in a car with a questionable safety record, but he then proceeded to try and fight him
wonder how mcdonald's and his other sponsors feel right now

I would suspend Bubba Wallace for Homestead.
Wallace just hooked Kyle Larson across the front stretch. Absolutely unacceptable.
There is no debating this loss of maturity and temper.

Bubba Wallace showing everyone who he really is.
Has always had issues with temper, judgement.

What a clown.
That is why people hate Bubba Wallace. He gets overly emotional when things don’t go his way. Hanging a left on Kyle Larson, while done wrong, is the lowest of the low.#NASCAR

NASCAR should ban Bubba Wallace for life and he should be prosecuted for the attempted murder and subsequent assault he committed today against Kyle Larson.
Will Wallace face any legal consequences or will his Democrat privilege prevail?

Every fan has heard time and time again when BLM driver Bubba Wallace makes History for being the first black man to do this or that.
Well, huge congrats to Bubba Wallace for being the first black NASCAR driver to Assault the smallest Asian driver in the sport on live NBC TV. pic.twitter.com/qEv396uLkI— 🇺🇸 Stroker Ace 🇺🇸 (@StrokerAce90) October 16, 2022
If @BubbaWallace isn’t suspended, I have officially lost faith in NASCAR’s penalty system. @TyGibbs should have been suspended for his actions on pit road a few weeks ago, so we will see what happens. Absolutely shocked at Bubbas actions.

Bubba Wallace showed who he really is today. (An asshole who assaults people). Lots of woke corporate rich people who propped him up solely on his skin color (racists) are now huddling under desks in fetal position. #NASCARPlayoffs
